Here is the fix for those of you using Internet Explorer and can't access sites such as Ebay or your computer is operating very slow.

Click on "tools" on your tool bar above.
Click on "Windows Update"
Click on "Product Update" on the Microsoft site

A screen will be displayed "Please Wait" while Microsoft determines what software updates are needed.

Click on "Critical Updates" these are a must.

There are additional options that will be marked that you can select if you want. The time for downloads is indicated.

This sould solve most of the problems as Microsoft has been updating this past week on the servers. I use Windows NT work Station and I expect the servers are the first to get the notice. This will also help with the virus problems that have been an issue with some of the emails.

Hopefully they won't do this again until after Christmas.

That's great Cramer. Hopefully anyone who has upgraded the Internet Explorer after reading this email will let us know so this post will stay up at the top of the listings and the rest of the gang will be able to solve the problems that everyone is talking about the past few days.

WOW ~ I just did it and way faster !

The internet had been slow loading pages for me for about 3 weeks and couldn't figure out what the heck was going on since I have cable hook up.
Never even thought about updating !!

Thanks so much!

I just updated. WOW! My dial up connection has improved 100 per cent. It took hours to update everything. I haven't updated for a very long time. I just tried Ebay again, unfortunately there are still problems there. I'm just going to hold off listing with them for awhile and check out some other auction sites. Thanks! The Fast connection is Great!!!

Its a good time to update as we get near the holiday season the computer problems become a nightmare every year. When the kids are out of school I can't access anything with a dial up connection and the endless gridlock. I guess that's the price I pay for living in the country.

I'm bumping this up to the top of the list for those people who are having problems again with slow internet.

"It took hours to update everything. "

Potterdj, You mean it actually took hours to download the updates from MS?

Please explain.

capotasto, Yes it took a long time to update on my computer. I had never updated anything on my own. I wasn't sure how to do it. There was one update they gave me from 2000. So there was alot that needed updating, and I have a dial up connection, that is quite slow at times. I really appreciate Greengate's instuctions. They were easy to understand and I managed to get everything up to date. It has really improved the speed of my computer and well worth the time it took.
