Hi, I dont post here often but I do read a good bit. I received this letter from ebay and found it quite strange. What do you all make of it?

Date: Wed, 6 November 2002 19:39:20 PDT

If you type the URL into your browser, you just go to an ebay page (saying the requested page does not exist).
If you use an A HREF link as uaru did, it can take you anywhere.
BTW I didn't know HTML would work here at AW.

Obvious scam potential in emails like that. If you try to think like a crook for a moment wouldn't an email like that be the perfect way to gather passwords? It's very easy to do with masked emails and email mass mailings. Ebay tries to warn their users about these things but they can hardly harp on it as it constantly brings the fraud issue to the forefront.
