Hi All....... What feedback would you leave for this person. ???

I had a buyer feedback 94... not a newbie...win a breakable item... it says in the listing ad that buyer will pay all costs..listed in the ad... shipping 5.05, handling 1.50 & insurance $1.25 ...
I also state in my ad's that
#1 THESE ITEMS ARE VERY BREAKABLE. ....
#2 Please be sure to read entire listing ad.By placing a bid you agree to follow all of the terms in this listing.
#3 If a auction has shipping, handling, and insurance,as a total fixed price, you will be requried to pay the full amount as stated in this auction listing

I get email from buyer, saying she wants total but doesn't want insurance.... I reply back with....Hi xxxxx, Thanks for your email...
There is a problem..
xxxxxxxxx COFFEE MUG
you said you will not be paying for insurance.... I am sorry but you agreed to the terms of the listing ad when you placed your bid and won this auction from me. the total for payment is
with insurance.....7.99 item + 5.50 shipping + 1.50 handling & trackng + 1.30 insurance = $16.29
stated in the listing ad is..... BUYER TO PAY ALL COST...,EXACT MAILING COST Select
your state Amt: 5.50 &
DELIVERY CONFIRMATION & HANDLING-$1.50 & INSURANCE-$1.25 =
=TOTAL AMOUNT FOR PRIORITY MAIL
SHIPPING.................
THESE ITEMS ARE VERY BREAKABLE By placing a bid you agree to follow all of the terms in this listing...If a auction has
shipping, handling, and insurance,as a total fixed price, you will be requried to pay the full amount as stated in this auction listing I thank you for following the terms listed in this auction...... This item is breakable...... Any questions or you disagree, then please let me know.
Thanks again

this was her reply...the buyers

Hi,
Ok That's fine. I just want you to know this is the
first time I had to pay more for the shipping and
handling fee than the actual item. I find unusual and
unnerving and alittle suspect. Especially since your
email indicates an un comprising attitude.
I have decided to break the contract and not purchase
this mug.
You have taught me lesson that I should read the
entire listing, and not to assume all sellers are
willing to work with the buyer. Thank-you for you
time.

What feedback would you leave for this person. ???

I think a neg would be appropriate in this instance. As a seller with over 700 plus feedbacks I would have to assume she didn't want to pay for insurance because she had already decided that the items would arrive broken (whether they were or not) and planned to rip you off. Some buyers feel that they can get their money back without purchasing insurance by holding the threat of a negative feedback over your head. This would be my take on this person by reading the email.

Just my humble opinion

Funny thing is if it showed up broken she would demand a full refund.
Relist, file npb and fees when you can, then move on.

She was out of line, but then again, I HATE handling fees. I refuse to bid on an auction that has them and I never charge them.

OK Lets start at the top. Have you informed of the NPB & negative feedback she will get? Have you informed her that this is a contract under eBay rules? Put all of your ducks in order & then leave a NEG.

Hi
I would file for my NPB.......she refused to send payment according to your auction listing so in this case I would not leave her a neg. until you have done all your filing for your fees.
When that's all completed that's when I would leave her a neg. Saying..."Bidder refused to comply to Auction Terms."
The reason I would not leave a Neg. so soon is because she might just change her mind when she starts getting the NPB alert emails, And you might save yourself a neg. also by waiting. Because lets face it,,,,,,,,,,you leave her a neg. she will most likely leave you a neg.
But the most important thing is to file for your fees, since that will go on her record, that is more important then leaveing her a neg.
After you file your NPB wait a few days, if no response from her then relist your item.
And make sure you put her on your block list.

Just how I feel

I may have responded like your buyer and perhaps would have asked you to omit the insurance at my own risk. It's rather ridiculous to pay that much insurance and handling on an item under $10.00 - Yes, it's your TOS but really, would you pay that much in S/H/I without at least asking the seller for a bit of a break?

I would take the negative.

If the buyer reads the auction listing and she dont like the terms, then she should email the seller before bidding, she is not new at Ebay. She did not do this so as it stands like or not like she is bound to the auction listing terms.
As you see, the seller will not ship without insurance, so now, the buyer should follow the auction terms as stated. If she wants to do things her way..........let her become a Seller!
She does deserve a Neg, even if you get one back, but not until you have done all your fileing for your fees.

I would remind her that by breaking the bid, she has broken a contract. I would even consider using a collection agency to show her that there are consequences. I know it is $10, but that isn't the point. NPB now, and I agree to save the neg for later - While I usually refrain from leaving negs, in this case I would make an exception.

Before bidding buyer MUST read the whole TOS. If they don't like what they see they don't bid. It is easier to buy on eBay than it is to sell. Sellers have rules and buyers can just buy. They don't have to read, they don't have to abide by the TOS. Well your buyer must follow your TOS and if not file for your fees wait then post a very professional negative. If she gives you a negative then answer that professionally also.

Does she have any other bid retractions? Good Luck........

wrightsracing your tracking is free if you print your eDC off the USPS Website then you can eleminate the DC charge. That will reduce some of the fees associated with your auctions.

as a seller and a buyer I often ask the seller to ship without insurance on a lower end purchase, at my risk of course.

I do feel you could have been a little softer in your return email to her...IMHO it does sound a little condescending.

That is why I pass on listing a lot of items...if the weight makes the shipping more than the item is worth, I don't list it.

But then, I never charge handling fees either.

As a seller, I go OUT of my way to please the buyer.. in most cases... If she had ASKED, and NOT just said she will not be paying for it... then I would have said fine.. you take the risk. I have done this before... as I feel as most do.. why put insurance on a low end item... In this case tho.. the item is breakable.... While I have learned how to pack them so that they will not get broken.. you just never know ????

this is feedback I recieved from a buyer who just recieved a mug in the mail.Received the mug today. Fabulous packaging! Dynamite couldn't have damaged that box

As for the handling fee. I do charge a small handling fee..I pay for someone to pack some of the items, and I buy ALL of my packing stuff needed....wish I could go pick it off the tree in the back yard.
.I use 2 2ft sheets of bubble wrap which I have to PAY for..it gets wraped twice and it takes me about 20 min's to 30 mins to pack up just 1 mug. As most sellers know...you just can't throw it in a box and it's done.. I think that is what some buyers think tho.. I make a insert out of cardboard that fits snug in the box and has 1/2" on all sides for peanuts and crush pervention with peices of cardboard reaching out to the sides of the box.... then the wraped mug sits inside the cardboard... bubblewrap in the bottom of the box and on the top of the box.

As far as shipping cost being more then the item cost.. what, that is my fault... I don't set the postage rates.....

I will file for my fee's and will wait til I am done and then I do plan on giving her a NEG. Just to warn other sellers, that she like to make her own terms of the sale after winning the auction.

Like I said before,, if she had ASKED , it would be a different story..... but she did NOT.

wrightsracing: Sorry you had this problem. I guess I'm confused as to why you are breaking down the shipping cost into amounts of 5.05, 1.50 and 1.25.

That's just asking for people to argue with you. "Why, I never! You're trying to RIP ME OFF with handling charges!"

Do you think you might have avoided this problem by simply saying, "Insured shipping is $7.80. All packages are insured, no exceptions."

neg: buyer cant read ?

occasionaly I agree with the buyer that s/he doesnt have to pay the insurance
(i only use DC at my own cost if they decline insurance)
but I ask the bidder to send me an email confirming that they understand that I cant be held responsible for any damage or loss
durring shipment.
most of the time they just send the insurance $$ but some confirm my email,
some people just dont see the reason to pay the extra money,
