Yesterday on the news they announced to avoid using the internet without updating your virus protection software because the government said a virus is supposed to be released online that could affect millions. Today I have had problems getting into Yahoo.com and I have received a large amount of emails as Non-Deliverable.
So, what affects us more??? Superbowl, or the damn virus? My 100+ auctions are at the same $$ over the last 10 hours and end tonight.

I hesitated to have any auctions end on Superbowl Sunday because I figured people would be tied up with football and then the following new Survivor Series that starts tonight to be bidding on eBay. I have found that a high percentage of my bidders are waiting for the last day, if not the last few minutes to bid on anything. Just not a good night to end auctions I guess.
As far as any virus, I just updated all my computers and haven't had any problems with any emails or otherwise.

My auctions end over the next hour or so and I have double the bids right now that I had 8 hours ago so I don't think either is effecting things much. SInce half the stuff listed is just pretty much just junk (pre-spring cleaning) I am very happy with the totals right now.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Actually, mine are doing VERY well tonight.
But then I sell things that appeal to a "geekier" clientele. Football is pretty low on my, and I assume my customer's, priority list.
On the other hand, I also have a shop in one of the areas largest flea markets and it was just DEAD this afternoon, I assume due to the Superbowl parties since the weather wasn't too bad.

I did very well tonight but I also sell to the "geekier" type--mostly books tonight, and some of them went for $$25 - $50, which pleases me since they were 25 cent items from a thrift shop. I expected low sales because of the Super Bowl but it didn't happen.

This is the first Sunday in 4 years that I did not sell anything! To be fair, I did not have a lot up because of the Superbowl. Today is looking better.

There's a 99% chance that those "Un-Deliverable" emails contain a virus. My software has caught many of them over the last couple of days. Most people are aware of the viruses and have updated their software. I don't think that has too much of an impact. I've noticed my sales are great one week, not great the next. I think a lot of it has to do in the way which people are paid. I get more bids at the beginning and middle of the month than the end of the month and even with the BINs, most wait until the end of the auction to bid. Since my BINs are generally only a penny or so above the actual opening bid, that mystifies me. I suppose it's still the thrill of the chase.
Yeah, how 'bout them Patriots? What a great SHOW !!!
And while enjoyin' the show, I still got great ebay bids on my gurlie foofoo items, from all the gals out there that were on KP duty for the super bowl parties. woohoo! uh-huh!

I had a great Sunday, and my auctions all ended right after the half time show! Maybe people turned off the tv after that (doubt it) - The first half (well, most of it) was very boring, but halftime and the rest of the game was pretty exciting lol
