no problems here Jack other than they take 4 days to clear and 50% of the time you have to go to Paypal and check if they clear....A week later you'll get a e-mail from Paypal saying they cleared lol and the buyer has already left feedback

O.k. thanks,,,,,,Now the reason I mentioned this is Because I HATE E CHECKS!!!!!!!!!! WHERE'S MY ITEM!!!!! I sent the pay pal and I want it RIGHT NOW!!!!!! Well duh, you sent Nothing but a promise to PAY and WHEN you DO THEN,,,,,,I will SEND yer item....It takes 4 days,,,,,,,and that means FOUR business days NITWIT!!!!! NOT including the weekends!!!!And Yes I am STILL waiting for the email from pay pal over an item from like 7 days ago. I HATE having to remember this stuff....Have the Full amount in YOUR pay pal account and send it like pronto. NO promissary notes.

Now,,,,,,I am settled back down,,,,,there is a button I just found on pay pal that BLOCKS e checks,,,,,,I checked it....have the Money in your account Or Don't buy from me. e checks, they suck!

Well Duh,
Pretty easy one here. Maybe you should e-mail your customer stating that you received notice of the e-check and that you will contact them back when it clears. A simple 30 second message will save you a lot more time down the road and you will save money in not having to buy tons of pain killers.

Jack - I am curious - why do yousell? The hate the venue, you hate the process, you hate the buyers. Why do you torment youself in this manner?

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

I do notify my bidders that I will ship when the e-check clears but a few times now I've had a bidder that didn't understand that they had to wait. Last year one guy got very nasty and haunted me daily and then gave me a neutral when he got his item and didn't contact me that he was unhappy. He didn't want to return it, there was nothing wrong with it, I think he was just miffed that I didn't ship right away. In fact when I did notify him that it had cleared he told me that it had already cleared a few hours before I e-mailed him.

PayPal is later with its notifications this year it seems. I sell under several accounts and list for someone else also so I'm used to going into PayPal every few hours all day so can always see if they've cleared.

Fenix, sometimes I ask myself the same thing, why do I sell on ebay? Most times I enjoy it but some days I hate it and it's a lot of work. Today I had to deal with some bidders that were non-readers. One I may get negged over and I wish I would have read his feedback before he won my auction. The other e-mailed me and I blocked before he decided to bid after reading his feedback. Some of my buyers are new to computers and others I can't reach because of their spam filters.

I also have two women I'm dealing with on my websites that have almost driven me over the edge by changing their minds and their orders several times after I've had them packaged and ready to mail so now they have to be redone.

I've been reading Jack's posts for a long time and I see his frustration over certain things and his desire to improve them or to question why things are that way. The last few years there are more sellers frustrated over the venue, the process and the buyers and I think many of us share a love/hate relationship with ebay and all that goes with it. I kind of enjoy Jack's vents.

Good question fenix, I would like to see jack answer that himself...

I am curious as to what pay method he will accept once he gets a charge back LOL

if you sell every day, many many items at low price ,you get burnt out and your temper flare.
will they come to your webiste and buy at fixed price?
no,why should they, they will just wait for your website to die a slow death and then you have to give them the item for less on ebay??
is there a future for ebay seller??
no,we just work to make ebay a success, there is really nothing for us.
but then i am sure there are some who would disagree with me,i am speculating,i am negative,i should really take my windfall and buy jay and marie's cd business !!

Morning stop,,,1/2 hour on my waaaaaaaay to SHOP! I love to buuuuuuuuuuuy,,,,, hate doing everything else. hahahahaha.......But,once I get it, I gotta get rid of it. Pack rats keep it. I love ALL forms of payments. An e checks not a payment , it's a promissory note. In other words they bought with no money. The whole point of pay pal is the FASTness. You guys do what you guys do. Have a GREAT day, c-ya's. poof !!!!! out the door. Gotta collect on my truck fleet rentals too.....Ah! would I let a renter drive away with an e check in my hand? Nope! Advance payment ONLY.

stopwhining asked,

will they come to your webiste and buy at fixed price?

Many have been doing that for several years now and most are easier sales than ebay. Not everyone heads to ebay.

But some items do better on ebay and some do best in an antique store or mall, it all depends on what it is. The trick is to know your market and use more than one venue.
