I have a pint bottle of an old patent medicine- It is called Wahoo- it seems to be a plant extract called euonymous and bottled by Nelson, Baker & Co- Detroit- mostlikly late 19th early 20th century- It still has it's seal on it -it is full, never been opened- Would EBAY have any restrictions on an item like this? They have so many strange ones-

If not an ebay no-no, I'm pretty sure the delivery services have a restriction as to not having it inside of any box they're transporting... in case of contamination, germs etc. if it were to break open or leak.

I believe the Postal Person always asks, "is there anything fragile, liquid, perishable or potentially hazardous?"
How much does the bottle weigh? If it is less than 1 pound you can get away with skipping the counter altogether to avoid lying. Just wrap it in a plastic ziploc, and tons of bubble wrap, label it and put your own postage on it.
I would also recommend putting a statement in the auction description that reads something like, "I am not responsible for damage if the bottle opens or breaks in transit. Fluctuations in air pressure from transporting it through different elevations may cause the bottle to open or break."

The only restriction may be calling it medicine.
I got an 35-year-old hearing aid that I as strictly a collectible item pulled because "You must be licensed to sell medical devices."
Ebay is pretty strict with anything considered by them to be medical.
I would list it as a collectible bottle and just mention that the bottle is sealed and full.
Liquids can be shipped via Post Office. They just ask so that they can label it as such to alert carriers. I've sent bottles of 7-up and Coke in collectible bottles through USPS without any problems.
