Tonight on Super Millionaire, we are in the audience. And to make this EBay related, last time we were there, we auctioned the T-Shirt they gave away. So now we have 2 more shirts to sell!! What we won't do to get merchandise. LOL

You can see us several times. When they do 'ask the audience', you can see us sitting there. We are both wearing black and I am sitting next to a lady in a red jacket. I think for sure it is the 1st and last, but don't know how they edited it. As you look at the TV, I am sitting right behind the family member so when they show them you can see my arm and knee.

Not being of the age where using the VCR comes easy, if anyone is inclinded to tape the show, I would appriciate it and we would reimburse for any costs.

Way to go!
That is very cool.
How much did the original T-shirt sell for?

I was about $15.00.

It's funny how things work out. We were at the very 1st one of the Super version in Feb. and then this one last Friday, was the last one of this season. This show only took 2 hours to tape, the other one was about 3 1/2.

For those who are curious - Regis is very business like and seemed to resent having to be there. The warm up guy was Paul Mercurio (had a 1/2 hour show on Comedy Central) last Sat., insulting and rude and laughs at his own jokes.

How interesting! I love all the Millionaire shows and watch them as much as possible. If Regis seems to resent being there, why is he there? Is there a binding contract he's signed? Meredith would do just as good a job, in my book.

I am in the television business and it just kills me when "on-air-talent" has an attitude.
They are getting paid TONS of money to show up at the last minute, do their job, and quickly leave, while the rest of the industry puts in way, way, way more time doing the dirty work, yet the stars act like it is a pain in the @ss.
Celebs need to look in the mirror and remember back to when they were begging for any job.
Incidentally, I rode in the back of a limo with Regis back in 1991 and all he did was complain about Kathy Lee the whole ride.

Hey, I believe I saw you--or at least part of you--an arm and a chest?? Behind the contestant's friend.

The nice big young man who takes care of his grandmother was an obvious audience favorite. Too bad he didn't get further.

I knew the answer on the gargoyle question, for some weird reason. To drain rainwater. Do you ever sit at home and go "NOooooooo, not D! C!"?

Why does it take 2 - 3 hours to tape that 1-hour show? What happens in between the parts that we actually see later on?

I was on the phone ordering something from a catalog when the lady taking my order heard The Price is Right on my TV. She told me she had been a contestant.
They take the audience, five at a time into a room, talk to them. From these interviews they choose their contestants & of course they don't know their chosen until their name is called.

She won a grandfathers clock, but lost out on winning a truck, but I can't remember what game she played. She also said the taxes on prizes are a killer. Naturally I asked her about Bob Barker & she said he is nice as could be. The whole show before during & after is very upbeat & enjoyable

Kind of the opposite of what I heard about Oprah.

I always like to hear what goes on behind the scenes at TV shows, never been to one.

Yes we knew the gargoyle answer also. Too bad the rest of the audience didn't. That was the question they had the camera on us the longest - 2 nano seconds! And no I wasn't picking my nose. I am a lady.

In between 'acts' they try to keep the audience energy level high. The idiot comic comes out again and says how we are doing applause wise and reaction wise then tries to pump everyone up. He gets everyone to stand up and stretch. The chairs are very straight and not too comfortable, so everyone looks like they have very good posture.

About the 3rd act they give out candy in paper cups to pass around, again for an energy boost. Then the t-shirts. You never saw so many greedy people in your life. It is like giving a crumb of bread to folks who haven't eaten in a year. And each time we have been to a show everyone has gotten one.

Regis hangs around doing or saying nothing. Once in awhile he cracks a joke. If there is a contenstant he will make a remark or 2 to them, but that is all. When he first came out he said that he was there to pull ABC out once again. Even tho' he was joking there was a resentment sound to it.

The tickets to these shows are free so there are usually 100's more people trying to get in. All the time you are sitting there you are not really allowed to leave for any reason. Everyone makes a potty stop on the way into the studio though.

Overall it is only a 40 minute train trip to the city and it is a fun cheap thing to do. The theater is alongside Central Park West and we stroll back to Times Square and enjoy the sights and sounds.

Lots more to tell but this is long already.
