I managed to get another summer cold. So I am already in a pissy mood when I read this email.
******************************************
There appears to be some confusion regarding this item. I did not specifically place an order, I was just enquiring the cost of shipping to the U.K.

I may possibly place a firm order in a couple of weeks.

*****************************************

He did a BIN! Then wrote to me asking the shipping cost.

What do I tell this joker.

I would write back that he placed a firm order when he clicked on the BIN button and set it in stone when he clicked on the confirm button. The total amount of the item is $... plus shipping $... for a total of $.... You can pay with.........

Tell him our countries speak, basically, the same language and that in neither does "Buy it Now" mean the same thing as "Ask seller a question." Point out that these choice aren't even near each other in an auction. Finish with the fact that if he wasn't actually buying the item, he shouldn't have jumped through all the hoops eBay makes a buyer jump through when using "Buy It Now" and that you sincerely hope his new glasses arrive soon so he doesn't havethe embarrassment of making such a "mistake" again in the future. Then let him know how much time he has to make the payment...

You might as well be nice because dispite clicking on a BIN, he is under no legal obligation to pay up. Write "Dear Sir, Thank you for your Buy It Now bid. S&H charges are $$$$. Prompt payment is expected on BIN auctions. Total amount due is $$$$$."

But,,,,,,but,,,,but. I thought I saw in the ebay rules, YOUR BID IS A LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT. Did they change the rules?

hahahahaha. Or was it really the rule(s) are worhtless UNLESS they affect E bay.

I guess your bidder has no affect on e bay cause e bay collects ANYWAY.

Give Craigslist.org a try. List anywhere. Take a L@@K see for yourself. Not just for local stuff. You can still ship.

Just send your end of auction invoice and treat it as a regular transaction. Then file your NPB and FVF when the time occurs.

Gotta go with alldings on this one, stay nice & hope for the best. Send your EOA email & see what happens.

I don't believe the bidder though, he knew what he was doing & now has buyers remorse.

Tell them no problem and file NPB.
