Hi. I have only had my eBay Store for a couple weeks now. But I need to know if, when you have a good-til-cancelled listing, does ebay keep it as the same Item Number when they renew it every 30 days? (or rather, do they change it to a new item number)... thank you for anyone who can answer this question for me.

The item # remains the same. Hope that helps!

Hello,
Yes, they roll it over as the same number. (Thank Goodness) Also, worth noting, some of my items have taken as much as a full day for them to roll over. Be patient, don't re-list on your own or you will end up with 2 of the same thing out in your store. (Speaks the voice of experience)

Hmmm... another question. If I have an ebay store listing, gtc, can I edit that same listing/item-number, a couple months from now, and turn it into an auction? (and yes, the item number would still stay the same, right?)

No - I don't think you can edit the format of the store listings. You have to end the listing and then you can relist and change the format. THe item number will change. If you are thinking about FLD ,if and when comes around, I plan to "bomb" end some of my store listings with vrane.com auction bomb (they say you should change your ebay password after using vrane because the site is not secure) and relist through Vendio. I hope Vendio has a bulk way to change the format on a relist developed by then!

As Kevin says, sometimes the GTC appear as unsold items on your "My Ebay" and it can take a while for them to roll-over. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T RELIST THEM! I have had some problems selling items TWICE that I relisted because they appeared as unsold when in fact, they rolled over.

Darn. I have an important item that I wanted to be able to run an ad, a couple weeks in advance of the auction, in AntiqueWeek, ... and I was hoping I could give the ebay item number in the ad .... it's an item in my store now.

..... plan B.... what to do.

If you end the ebay store listing and then relist it from the exact same listing via vendio (Out of your closed items>relist) It will show the store item as relisted with ebays little link. Just a thought.

Thanks Kevin ... I was thinking along those lines now too ... it just won't turn out as 'professional' as i wanted it to.

thanks neglus and eauctionmgnt too....

I had even written to ebay a couple weeks ago trying to plan this out, and I suggested to them that for important bigger money items, that will need to give ebay shoppers the TIME they will need to research, ebay should have (and charge accordingly) an option for running 120 day auctions, etc. and I pointed out to them that they have that for Real Estate category only. (i think the listing fee for that is $150)... i told them i'd be willing to pay $150 listing fee if i could set up a 120-day auction. ... it's just NOT real estate! LOL

they wrote back thanking me for the idea, and then let me know that any ideas or suggestions given to them, that they end up using, are their sole 'property' and not to expect any kickback (something to that effect) LOL ... whatEVER!
