I brought something from a seller on ebay. Clearly and in all caps with large colored type said seller states that they ship via Priority mail. 9 days after I paid I asked when they anticipated me receiving the order... looks like it will be a few more days because you see, I did not read thei About Me page in order to find out that I have to actually specifically and seperately request that they ship when I make the payment, otherwise they ship when they get to it.
Am I wrong in believing that I should not have hunt out those types of details?
I don't read About Me pages. By definition they are pages about the seller and to be quite honest, I could not care less how many kids they have, what they do on vacation or what their dogs name is. If it was an "our Terms" page, I would probably read it but then terms are those things that are included in the actual auction right? (oh and by the way - there are 5 paragraphs of completly irrelevent crap with accompanying photos and cutsey graphics requiring much scrolling thru before the 6 point type which states that they are slow shippers unless you specifically ask otherwise).
Am I crazy here?

I agree with you Fenix and would tempted to neg em for this. As much as I hate having all that TOS on my auction page, I still put it there where my buyers can find it. Buyers do not read half the auction, muchless the ME page.
I quit clicking on ME pages long ago.
As for shipping time, it never ceases to amaze me how sellers can find time to list auctions and then neglect the shipping part of their business. I too could careless what they do with the rest of their time. If they sell me something, I expect them to ship it within a reasonable time.
What type of feedback do they have?

Neg the idiots.
If they state they ship everything priority
mail, you should expect the package within 3-4 days. There is no reason you should have to look on their "about me" page to find out they only ship when they get to it.I have NEVER read an "about me" page, for one simple reason...I really dont give a sh*t about you personally..just ship the damn merchandise.
Thats the same reason why I never filled out an "about me" page-who the hell cares?? You think people that are looking over 100's of auctions really care what my wifes Siamese cats name is?(its ginger by the way)
If they are so damn lazy and slow shippers,
that should be right in the TOS and not on stupid "about me" page.In fact to show you how stupid these people are,if they are going to slow ship, they might as well send it media and save themselves some money.
When someone says I will ship it when I get around to it sounds like they dont care about their customers.Of course this is just my HUMBLE opinion.
Am I crazy here?
Well since you asked-yes you are, but I really didnt want to bring that up

My thoughts are and this is what I do. When a buyer pays for their item it is mailed the next day. Now, I am only a small seller but if a buyer pays immediately then they deserve their package immediately. I agree a negative with pertinent mailing information in it so other buyers will have a heads up. Maybe they will learn a lesson. Is there any indication of their mailing habits in their feedback? If not you can be the first.
I have only pertinent information in my about me page which is my guarantee but I link that page in my Payment and Shipping Details and I say that when I link it. It just spells out information that Canadian and International buyers need to read before bidding. It really has nothing to do with US sales so I don't want to include it unless I sell that item internationally.

Hey, libra, My TOS states that I will ship within 24 hrs of redeipt of payment. I do not give an option as to how I ship. Heavy items may go by FedEx Grond & light by Priority Mail. Whichever is the less costly.

That fits in with my mailing immediately. With what you sell it probably takes longer to package. My packages are usually small ones and quite a few I can now mail from home. I think when a buyer honors your auction with their winning bid and they pay right away they deserve the same service.
It is a little different when they send a money order or check as our mail doesn't come until late in the afternoon and I work the next day then it is delayed until the day after. By the sound of it most of the posters in here give good service.

There is absolutely no legite reason for this seller to not be able to send your package priority within a day or two of your payment. USPS has online postage and the mailman will pick up it for free. You can give it to them at the same time they deliver the mail. Everyone gets mail almost everyday.
Am I crazy here?
You are always crazy, not just here, but this seller is in the wrong. I would wait for negging until you get your package, then blast away.

Unbelievable & I never read ME pages except if one is mentioned here.
When they get to it, how about if they never get to it.
I would wait for him to leave FB & then neg him. I'm not big on leaving negs, but I could easily do it to this guy.

I have not yet decided what feedback to give but I think I did successfully shame them when I informed them that I placed an order with an Asian supplier almost a week after I purchased from them and guess what - that order is going to beat theirs to my doorstep.
Oh and as for you two Classic and Stop... leave it to the board whack jobs to agree that I am crazy

Hey - guess what did not arrive today...... we are now entering day 7 since the priority mail shipment was actually sent.
On a side note - despite me calling them at 9:30 this morning to note a problem with the shipment coming from Asia (as in their website showed it was out for delivery in an entirely different state) this afternoon UPS delivered shipment to someone else (in said entirely different state).
I hate UPS - this is like the 5th time they have done something like this and the thing that I find constantly amazing is that their excuse is always... "we have no way to contact our drivers once they are on the road". Apparently UPS has never heard of cell phones.

IDIOT UPDATE - I emailed the above seller to ask about tracking on the package and was told "No tracking, I didn't know how I was going to ship it"
Huh? You know, it irritates the hell out of me as a seller when buyers do not read my terms but it absolutely makes me want to pull someones hair out when the seller does not read their own terms. Hey you brain dead twit - You are shipping it Priority.
When I emailed back mentioning this fact they and the fact that I can no longer ship my customers orders because of their incompetence they offer to send out a new shipment. Am I at 213 XYZ street? NO you brain dead illiterate twit... it's 123 XYZ St. Not that hard to find - it's the confirmed address on the payment you recieved 2 weeks ago.
Of course this is after I spent the entire morning on the phone with half a dozen people in three states from UPS trying to get them to get my package back and ship it to me. Among other people they had the manager of the local station call me... my local station... don't ask me why... the package is four states away.
I'm thinking this may be the day to take care of cleaning and groceries and maybe not answer the emails from people who email asking where their order is by replying to the notice that was sent to them 3 days ago that states that their item has been shipped and should arrive in 7-10 days (international shipping).
