Hi...how is Overstock treating those listing there?
We've sold a few items...but, not going back.
Has anyone else had successes?

Father: Oh, ye of little faith! I'm still listing, and I have found that their response to questions (in a personal e-mail, not canned) is phenominal. Yes, it's slow; but so is eBay from time to time. The count of items for sale is rising. I have sold three items, one that ends today has five bids (a nice sign that there are more buyers looking). Also, you cannot beat a 23 cent listing. I will keep at it. I will probably lose a bit in listing fees on auctions that don't sell at first, but not that much. They are also making improvements based upon sellers' suggestions - what a novel idea! And the improvements haven't put the site down, either.

Good Morning earthmum...that's great..you are correct, they do respond pretty quickly. Perhaps I'm a little jaded, because - like others - we've so many arrive, make promises, and vanish.
We'll list a couple of more items to see what happens.
Thanks for the good news.

I think I'll try a few more, at a more lucrative time.....probably the first week or so in November.
Right now I think, folks disposable income is probably being spent on Halloween related items, in which we don't deal.
My main problem with the Big O is, the confused, fouled up method of listing. But, I will try again in a few weeks.
I know we all fantasize about some auction site to compete with feebay, but if we don’t support such auction sites, which do appear, and already have a sound customer base, then we are wishing in vain.

I have a few items listed there but right now I just don't have the time to list a lot on there. We are in the middle of trying to stock two Flea Market locations and buying the remaining inventory of a audio book deal. I have a lot of work to do on my E-Bay Store and auctions and I still have other inventory coming in and ton of ads to write. But when I get caught up I will try several new items on OS.

ltray - I haven't asked for search to be fixed. Maybe I should try that and see what they say. jwpc - I don't have any trouble at all building auctions. However, I do very simple auctions, no fancy stuff. My bidding war was over last night, and the winner has already paid. My item got 17 bids, it's been a long time since that happened on eBay. And I agree heartily, if we want Overstock to take off, we have to list.

Congratulations on your sales Mum. I would love to sell on the O, but the type of things I sell (antiques and vintage collectibles) would get lost really fast unless "O" fixes their search.
I even bought several items from Amazon this week because I could not sort out enough of the garbage on the "O" to see if they had what I wanted.
A search for bowling shoes pulled up every pair of shoes and every bowl on Overstock!

Talk about confusion! I sold something on 10/5. This woman keeps emailing me telling me she's paid for her item and "where is it?" I keep emailing her that she didn't pay. I assured her I search through my PayPal payments and her's is not there. She seems to be one of those that thinks Overstock charges her credit card. I cannot get to to grasp the concept of paying me directly. I think I am going to ask OS to intervene. This is nuts. I also have 2 NPBs out of 10 sales. Not good odds, IMO.

From my perspective, the biggest problem is the fact that they are charging LISTING FEES!
I'm doing everything I can to avoid feeBay's l-fees & feeBay's exposure & presence is TREMENDOUS!
I donna mind paying Overstuffed a FVF if sumptin sells, but I'm closing in on my end of auctions (2nd round without a sale) tomorrow & have to decide whether or not to throw good moola after bad...

their search really susks big time!
also how do you look at past listing?
and that frequent message that they are experiencing problem due to our enthusiasm, thats a bunch of crap!
also it takes too many pages to complete a listing.

I sold everything I posted so I will run more as soon as I get caught up writing new ads for E-bay. It could be a good site to sell on, and thats great because Amazon bit the dirt for me.
