I posted this early this month:
"This is hard to believe, I was astounded. I received a money order the other day, with a note saying it was payment for eBay auction #so & so. I was already on eBay so I checked, and could find no such auction. Then I checked my Auction Management Program, Auction Tamer, and couldn't believe, the payment was for an auction won on December 12, 2002!
Fortunately, I still carry the item, so their order will be filled, but I am wondering what caused them to pay after 2 years!!!!
Have you ever had one like that?"
***************************************
THEN Yesterday, I received a MO payment for an unpaid auction taking place in 2003! Now, combined with the payment from the auction payment I just received for an auction which closed Dec. 2002, I KNEW something had to be up. That it was no coincidence that I had received these 2 ancient payment.
THEN I remembered, I had sent out a "WHOOPS DID YOU FORGET TO PAY," notice, to all non-payers, I THOUGHT I had selected auctions falling within the last 28 days of this year, BUT apparently I didn't and my automated system, sent "WHOOPS DID YOU FORGET TO PAY," to everyone who had not paid for auctions, dating back to 2001!!!
Well, at least some folks do FINALLY get around to paying!

I use Auction Tamer, too, but I don't know how to search for a specific item number. Even clicking on the column header doesn't sort them numerically. How did you find the item? Thanks!

Itray I wasn’t really trying to “drum up business” just to get some month or less, delinquent payment in before I had to turn them in to eBay. I set the letter on automatic, went to do something else, and didn’t realize till the second weird, REALLY late payment came in, what had happened.
Apparently, I forget to highlight the relative auctions, and the system just sent one to any delinquent buyer since 2001!!

AintRichYet You asked me where I saw the “Whoops Did You Forget to Pay,” notice, I just created it.

Amber I don’t see anything really novel about my “Whoops Did You Forget To Pay,” notice, I try to be nice, but firm, that is a fine line to walk. If you e-mail me direct at: [email protected], I’ll send you a copy, I’d prefer to not post the letter here.

Tradersjones You are correct, I use Auction Tamer, have almost since its inception. It is just a widely versatile program, and I can keep up with my two major auction sites and their sales all through the same system. AT is integrated into many of the major and minor auction sites.
To search for any header for a specific Item Number, or Address, or whatever, FIRST, just go to your upper tab that says Selling, when that pops up, make sure you have checked DISPLAY ALL AUCTIONS. Then, RIGHT click on the INDIVIDUAL Column Header, you desire and a box will pop up for you to put the specific item number, or name, or any of the header titles in.
To get the sales in date order, Again go to the SELLING TAB AT THE TOP, open it, CHECK DISPLAY ALL AUCTIONS, AND THEN LEFT CLICK ON THE HEADER “DATE BID,” AND THAT WILL CHANGE THE CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER.
You can find all sorts of neat tricks or helpful short cuts by gone to the on line manual for AT, and reading or searching it.

Bottom line, AT comes with formatted letters, but many years ago, I changed all the letters, and continue to do so, to keep them up to date, or to mention any special I may be running.
I create all of my letters in Microsoft FrontPage, and then transfer the HTML, over to AT, to create or update a letter, send out a special notice, promotion, etc.

I started using AT back when it was FREE. I am currently using version 6.8.6, but when I click on the "Selling" in the upper tool bar, I do not get an option to display all auctions. I only get that in the My Bidders screen. Right clicking on any column header and any screen does not produce a pop up box to put information in.
Could I trouble you to run that by me again? If you prefer, you can email to [email protected]. Thanks again!
