Well dip me.

I just listed a bunch of fixed price stuff tonight before I knew about this.

Oh well. I'll list doubles tomorrow perhaps

Normally, I'd jump up and down and give a big 'WooHoo!' but the week before Christmas?

How many people are going to want overnight shipping at parcel post prices? How many people are going to buy-it-now next Wednesday and then want-it-now by Friday?

All my listings ended tonight, and I was planning on being DONE until wither Christmas or whenever FLD turns out to be. Now I wonder if this IS what's going to pass for a FLD.

This one is definitely a dilemma.

I bet this is our 'Christmas present' for this year. But there is always hope that this won't get enough of a spike in listings and they will still have the FLD.

I still think there will be a FLD - ebay's fiscal year ends December 31st and it wouldn't look good to Wall Street to have listings down from year end 2003. While they don't realize FVF until 2005, they must have some formula for projecting return on FVF on the gazillion listings from FLD.

Helga, I did the same thing. 16 new Fixed Price listings ending on Sunday night (still plenty of time for priority mail shipping before Christmas). THEN I see the FP discount. But I'd have had to end on Saturday or Monday and Sunday is still the best.

This will proably end the FLD. Ebay has been wanting to end this concept but in later years they had to use FLD to up their stock at the year end. With this 50% off and the just recent fixed price sale this may be anough to signal the end to FLD. If it does it sure will disappoint many who only list on FLD. I guess it is time to move on to other adventures.

If the medved listing counts page is accurate, listings have been dropping all day. Maybe it will pickup this evening.

Tough call, go for the half price or wait and hope for fld.

I'm going to pass this time. I'v been mentally flip-flopping on this one since last night, but finally came to the conclusion that other things are more important.

Not only do I need the time to restock, reorganize and tie up loose ends for the year (tax time is coming!), but mostly I don't want to deal with the three-days-before-Christmas shipping insanity.

Half price is normally great, I could save a few hundred bucks in listing fees, but there are just too many drawbacks with the timing. I will do FLD in a big way if they have one, but I am going to sit this one out.

If this sale had been for "standard" auctions (and not fixed prices) ending next Wednesday night, I'd probably have bitten. Things ending that late are pretty much assumed to be unable to make it by the weekend. But how risky is something bought Monday night and shipping on Tuesday or God forbid Wednesday?

Why get 50% off, when you can have 100% off.

It is Free Listing Day at Overstock.

Ebay has done this 50% fixed price listing day every year since they started FP a week or two before the FLD. I passed on this one and am giving Overstock my FLD business.

Debest-leech,
You can move your garbage to bidway. FLD 24/7 and you can even except funny money.
