I've never had this happen before. I have 9 NPBs right now. Take into consideration I only sold 50 things this month. I WANT MY MONEY. LOL

I don't know, but I have them, too, and usually I very rarely have to file NPB. Is it the economy? Or perhaps the influx of new bidders that I've commented on previously? Who knows ... but it's very aggravating!

I've had more than normal, as well. I've also had an onslaught of bad email addresses attached to them. It stinks.

On the brighter side, I had what I thought was a NPB finally call and tell me that his $2000 was on its way. That's not to say that it will show up, but generally if people take the trouble to call, they are going to do it.

We've started submitting names of bad emails, and are jumping on NPB more than in the past.

I think, if anything, NPBs are flat to down as a percentage for us. Thankfully, most of the expensive items get paid for right away. Maybe at this time of year, NPBs just hurt more, so they're more noticed.

I haven't had any NPB but I did stop selling 2 weeks ago as I figure people are out shopping at the malls and really don't give a hoot about what they bid on. Slow payers yes. I hope the New Year is different.

I have more NPBs with low-end items than with the higher-priced ones, but almost always the ones I consider NPBs pay up eventually. I've had very few, maybe 5 or 6, in 5 years that never paid, never showed their "faces" again.
My hunch is that, if you've bid on and won a high-priced item, that's something you're more likely to want - now - and pay for.

I think most of us are more distracted in December, for all the usual reasons. I've noticed when I need to send a small check to a seller, I tend to put it off a few days as just one more little detail to be taken care of.

I just made a note a couple of days ago NOT to sell after the first week of December. I keep forgetting the little aggravations this time of year, like slow mail, damaged mail, etc. But isn't it addictive!!

We’ve had almost no NPB’s from eBay this year, but a niche auction we use, always has them, but since they allow us to promote one of our specialty web sites, I figure they are worth the hassle of the NPB’s.

I filed 23 last week alone. One buyer is hard to understand, he now has 69 negatives last week from 17 sellers, but is still not suspended, so someone is not filing UID's. I feel like writing and asking them, because that is the only way he is going to stop. He bid on 14 of my auctions, keeps saying "money order is in the mail", that was most of the neg's say also.

Almost every one of the "almost" NPBs that I have had recently have ended up paying right before I started the process. A couple of them have admitted forgetting, others have had employment problems and few haven't said anything at all just sent the payment. (I always warn them that things are about to get nasty.)

I just finished helping another fairly new person get through all of the hoops. Really didn't understand how Pay Pal works and was afraid to click the link in the invoice for fear of ending up with a virus or giving his info to "who knows who". Walked him through all of the different ways to get the details and pay via PP. Now he is a very happy customer. I always end up doing a lot of that this time of year.

most bidders just want to bid for the item they like, there are too many sellers with too much terms and conditions, who has time to read all that??
I find this out when I start bidding more recently,no one has the time and patience to read each individual seller terms, one whole page is devoted to terms and little said about the item and the picture SUCKS.
Terms such as I expect to be paid in x number of days or x number of hours, skip that,we all expect to be paid, else why are we selling?
terms like I take paypal but no credit card, bank transfer or paypal fund only turns some bidders off, some dont mind.If you cant afford the paypal fee, then just say I dont take paypal.
And if you wonder why bids are so low, some sellers just dont know what they are selling, bone or ivory or plastic??
The pictures really suck,if seller does not want to invest in a good camera and learn a few things about photography, why should anyone bid high??
Recently i received an item in a filthy plastic bag ,along with the item which is not as described, there is a small dead cockroach inside.

stopwhining,
Nail em to a wall for the extra shipping of a dead cockroach.
Now for a reality check, I know what you mean. I went looking at some items that I was getting ready to sell and couldn't believe the TOS of most of those people. 2 or 3 screens in length. I also noticed a whole bunch of auctions with NO pictures. Here buy this, pay my way, Right now, then I will send it when I get around to it...all with no picture and lousy feedback. Go figure. Others with pictures so fuzzy I couldn't figure out what they took a picture of. Guess you can get around the "Not as described" that way.

there was a time when we have to find out why they are selling what they are selling-like their parents call them princess as they are so fond of jewelry and now they peddle nothing but jewelry on ebay.there is even a pic of mom and dad with 'princess'
yeah, that dead cockroach is the reason why I paid an extra dollar for shipping/

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that when Ebay bombards the TV with their silly commercials, the number of NPB's rise?

This year has been the worst turnout for NPB. I never had a problem with it before. Most have been newbies. One of the problems I have run across is email bouncing back to me. So when you file for your NPB all of the sudden they receive that email.

I am dumping Vendio Mail and AOL mail for ebay and just using Gmail. That seems to have helped.

You didn't pay an extra dollar, you properly compensated the seller for the time it takes to package and ship the item.

Every time I read about that dead roach, two things cross my mind...

1. Was it alive when they shipped it?

2. Was it from Florida? We have so many @#$% bugs around here that you never know where they will show up. I was unpacking a box a few weeks ago. The box had been in my storage room for a long time, but it was sealed with tape. I get to the bottom and find a little wiggling tail.

Not just a tail, but a wiggling tail! I knew some local gecko had just had the bejeezuz (run that one thru the spell checker, lol)scared out of him. I turned the box over, shook really hard, and sure enough, out ran a tail-less lizard. Sorry boy...

What\'s with all the NPBs?

Must have something to do with what you are selling and the age group you are targeting. My NPB rate is clearly lower than most other times of the year. In fact, I haven't had a NPB on ebay or Yahoo since before Halloween. Have had one from Overstock from the first FLD, but that is likely a stupid sports card freak.
