I didn't read the article, but I saw here on Good morning America earlier today. I had pets as a child, but I've "outgrown" my pet phase - so it's not something I can see myself ever doing. But there are so many people who love and are devoted to their pets, I can easily see them doing the same thing if they could afford it.
There was also a man from the company that cloned it for her - they are working on being able to clone dogs, too. And they expect the price to come down in the future. He didn't say how far down. Who knows Tom, maybe there's a Ralphie junior in your future.

I had a boil lanced a few years back and it was all pussy too. But I wouldn't pay $50,000 for it. It was actually pretty gross.

One thing that stood out to me in this article was the quote “For $50,000, she could have provided homes for a lot of strays.”
Hello? Freedom of choice? How about all those people driving Hummers that could have spent that money on homeless people and drove a cheap used car? This is just stupid liberal garbage. It's HER money to spend, not anyone else's.

tomwiii, yes incredible story, but did you ever see the movie The Sixth Day starring Guvner Arnold? How do you know you haven't already been cloned, and only think you're real? Maybe your personality is identical to the original tomwiii. In the movie, they checked under the lower lid of their right eye, if there was a dot, yup, they were cloned. Run, don't walk, to the mirror, NOW!

Didja catch the name of the company that she paid to do this? "Genetic Savings and Clone" I'm almost laughed myself off the friggin' chair!
