Okay so I figured I'd be safe to ask it here since the people on the eBay sellers board are FREAKING out on anyone who mentions FLD.

IF eBay does a FLD on the 26th, it will start at what time EST? Like would it be 12:01 a.m. EST tonight or would it be 3 a.m. EST so that it's 12:01 a.m. PST?

Does this make sense?

This could also be applied to when they do half price Fixed Price days, etc. So I guess it could be a general question

It should be 3.01 EST since ebay works on PST and there is a 3 hr difference. But will ebay have a FLD? It appears that everyone expects one because I gather listings right now are at an all time low

I don't know if they are having one or not. I know Overstock is having one and eBay is quite competitive?

I don't know. But I was just trying to gauge how many hours I have left to scan things since I'm on the east coast.

Thanks for the answer!

If there is no FLD then I have lots of stuff scanned and ready to list

We've been off the hill all day, just home now. I see there's still no announcement about a FLD. Gee. Whoever hears first, post it here, please!

I looked at EO from last year and it wasm't announced until 835 PST..I feel like I am waiting for Godot tonight ....

Well I stopped my insanity driven scanning binge and went to see "Meet The Fockers". I was hoping to come home and find an announcement and yet nothing. So I'll keep scanning

Neglus. Waiting for Godot is EXACTLY the feeling! Thanks for mentioning that great play.

I decided to prelist a few items. That way, even if they don't have it until Monday, those items can be revised to start on the FLD. And they also refund the advanced listing fee if you revise to start at that time.

Neglus,
If I remember correctly, one year it was not announced until 10:00 PM the night before.

Helga,
Any time Ebay announces a time for anything, it will always be Pacific time.

so they basically have until 3 a.m. EST to announce if they are going to do it.

I only ever participated in 1 FLD, I found out about it by accident on this board when I wasn't actively selling on eBay. I'd like to be involved in one full force

Technically it should work, but every FLD in the past, anyone using turbo lister has complained that it was not working, so I wouldn't depend upon it.

I am going to stick with my prediction of a couple of weeks ago and say the FLD will be Monday.

It is 10:30 here in eBay time zone, and no notices yet of FLD for the 26th.

I checked all of the major English sites announcement pages:

Stone,
This year it is your turn to stay up till midnight monitoring for the announcement of FLD. As soon as it is announced, you are to telephone all Vendio members and give the details. BTW, NO COLLECT CALLS!!!

Well..does this mean no fld this year or is ebay going to "surprise" us and do it later than usual. Who knows? Guess I will have to go ahead and list some of my inventory. I have always had good sales right after Christmas and certainly need to get rid of lots of stuff.

Stone....2 weeks ago you predicted the 23rd. The 27th was your third choice I believe. Two weeks ago it was I who felt the 27th or 28th was the day. There's still plenty of time to get those auctions ready, and enjoy the weekend.

Today is FLD at Overstock. You'd think eBay would be as generous with all the millions they make.

Apparently we aren't getting a FLD - looks like it's a 10 cent listing day:

Rather Scrooge-y of them, I must say. I guess I'll do it, though. I have about 50 items I unlisted today, after learning this wouldn't be a FLD. Dang them. How cheap.

Eh, it's better than nothing. I can list 10 items for a buck instead of 3.

So midnight PST...3 a.m. EST. I'll be sleeping. I wont be listing I guess until tomorrow afternoon all the way through tomorrow night. Hope I can get it all done. Wish it had been today when I didn't have to work tomorow.
