I have easy armour and I am getting rid of my road runner tomorrow. I hate it. I think it might be my system. I have windows 98 and everything seems to hang up. Some days I reboot 4 times. The firewall stops everything. I ran ad ware and spybot and I had only 11 items on my adware and nothing on spybot. That was for 6 months. So it does stop everything.
As for email It sends through the spam into a different folder than your regular mail. If you accept a email out of the spam folder then the next time it comes into your regular box.
Since it was so cheap I thought I would try it but I did not like it. So since I can't get hispeed I have to do back to dial up. It can't be much slower than road runner.

I love using EZ Armor. Libra, you may need to change some settings in it. It works great with my XP. It has cut down instances of spyware!

I used RR when I lived in BAWHSTAN -- twas "OK"
Here in sunny JAX, I tried BELLSOUTH SLOW-ACCESS DSL & hated it -- twas AWFUL!
Then I got da CABLE (COMCAST) & LOVE IT -- extremely fast!
Love the WIRELESS HOME NETWORKING -- I can surf on my PC in the 'PUTER ROOM (dining room) while (at the same time) Ralphie surfs on his LAPTOP in our BOUDOIR -- EVERYBODY is HAPPY!
We use WIN-PATROL to keep out fangs sharp & coats glossy!

Cheryl, there are no settings to change. It is my system and that is what they told me. and I am not going to change that but I will get rid of road runner as it is very very slow. My dial up is faster than that. When he came and hooked it up he said there was problems but didn't do anything about it. It does prevent sypware but since my system doesn't work right I am dropping roadrunner as that is the only thing I can do. Since ez armour was free they will probably disconnect that also. With my dial up I have the same protection only different companies. I cannot afford a new system and I am happy with the one I have. If I was younger maybe I would feel differently but as of now I don't want to invest into a new computer.
I do have one problem with road runner, their tech support isn't the best. Also with road runner you can't defrag your system unless you use the special instructions from Microsoft and when I inquired the first time they said to bad. The second time they sent me to Microsoft.
I do like having the phone free but with the no call list ending at the end of the year we will be bombarded with phone calls again so this will stop them. We do have a cell phone and we use that most of the time.
I know there are pluses to road runner so if you find a special deal I would try it as you can also go back to a different service if you don't like it.

Thank you all for your input. Just wanted to be sure EZ Armor was up to par with other Anti Virus and Firewall products. As I already use RoadRunner,I guess I will give it a try.

Anyhoo...just a quick reminder that BEFORE installing any NEW ANTI-VIRUS SW, ye must totally UN-INSTALL any OLD AV SW!
Veeeery important to do so, or yer hair will fall out; or yer earlobes will itch; or ye might join the GOP; or some other equally terribly evil calamity might befall you...

The EZ Armor suite I'm using is the stand alone product from Computer Associates. When I click on EZ Firewall, there are all kinds of settings. I can contol which sites to allow access and which ones not to. Once I made the adjustments, it hasn't caused me a bit of trouble.
