Ebay related. You can buy Tervis tumblers on Ebay.

I bought a Tervis Tumbler, it cracked and sent it back to the company and they sent me a brand new one. Lifetime guarantee, no questions asked.

Cold weather, Sam's Club and a battery.

With the cold weather this week, I went out to crank up my car day before yesterday and the battery was dead as a doornail. I looked on the side of the battery and it said manufactured in May 2003. Ok, two year battery, time for a new one. My husband said let me take the old one back to Sam's Club first. We pulled out the papers and there was 4 months left out of the 2 year warranty. I thought maybe they'd give him $5.00 off a new battery - but NO! They gave him a brand new battery at no cost.

The guy at Sam's said if you buy a battery from them you almost never pay for another battery. Even if it's out of warranty they pro-rate the new battery so much that you pay very little out of pocket.

Just thought I'd pass this on.

I once listed a Zippo lighter. The latch that holds the lid closed was sprung and it wouldn't close all the way. I thoroughly described and pictured it. It sold for over $65.00. I even mentioned it in my EOA to the winner, in case he was one of those who doesn't read the description. He responded that the damage didn't matter. Zippo would fix it for free. It turns out that Zippo provides a lifetime warranty. No fine print and no questions asked. If it ever breaks for any reason, they will repair or replace it free. Period.

A couple of months ago, I sold a used Hermes Berkin bag for $7500. That's pretty amazing in and of itself, but because there's a waiting list for them, I got that price even though the bag cost $6000 new (which I acknowledged in the listing). The buyer said the scratches and scuffs (which were clearly described and photographed) didn't matter, because Hermes would make it like new for free

Man, if I only had a few dozen of those bags!

Buck knives, too. And Ray-ban glasses, although at times Ray-ban says they're toast and offers you a deal on a new pair. Craftsman tools are cool for a great warranty like that.

Don't forget Leatherman tools as well.

As for batteries... I haven't paid for a new battery in 8 years.

Batteries hardly last 2 years here in PC if you live close to the beach. My first batteries were A/c Delco with warranties not worth a darn. Went to Wallyworld and purchased a $37.00 battery in 1994 and they replaced it for free for the next 8 years until I sold the car.

Just make sure you keep your receipt. I keep mine in the little envelope on the side of the battery.

We travel a lot and I have used the warranty in 3 different states and NEVER had a problem returning a battery.

Trader Joe's is pretty darn good too! You don't like the Two Buck Chuck or anything else you bought there just take it back.

No questions asked...

Of course, who wouldn't like Two Buck?

I buy GE Halogen Ultra Extra Long Life light bulbs for my yard lights. There is a 3 year guarantee on them. I have 3. Light output is 600. I keep the receipts and everytime one burns out, I take it to the hardware store and they replace it free of charge. Get a new receipt each time to prove the date of the new one.
