Here ya go.

I don't have a clue. Can you do a close-up? When you rub it briskly, is there a chemical odor?

Put brackets[ ] with img between them, at beginning of line, then start with http, etc. (Don't use "src=" at all.)

At end of line after jpg, put [/img]

As Tomwiii would say, Easy Peazy!

Yo! Ye with da Magnetic personality:

According to our RESIDENT EXPERT (Mr Boston Red Sox Ralph, who keeps running around the house grunting sumptin that sounds like: "Dynasty!")

Buy some "Simichrome Polish" -- tis a German metal polish available at (?) hardware stores or online...

Take a clean cloth & a very TINY amount of SP and rub on an inconspicious inside area of yer ?Bakelite item --

If it IS Bakelite, the SP will react with the Phenol in the item & you will have a nice YELLOW STAIN on yer cloth -- dat's a POSITIVE REACTION (YEAH!)

NO YELLOW = NO BAKELITE!

I honestly doubt if this bracelet is Bakelite. Here is an article on Jay Strongwater.

Jay Strongwater formerly Jay Feinberg Limited whose distinctive costume jewelry designs are sold in major department and specialty stores and are often featured in the pages of fashion magazines. He did Oscar De La renta runway jewelry. He started approximately in late 70's or early 80's.

My ideas come from everywhere. I look at old pieces of jewelry and auction house catalogs and go to flea markets. I was very inspired by the vienna show at the Modern Museum of Art. I love beads, their different techniques and finishes. I can build an entire collection around one bead.

We have beads designed for us. It's important that my collection by unique. I have resin dyed to my specifications in Germany. All our castings are done from my sketches each season. I work with model-makers to execute them. My line has no bought pieces.

My materials are resin, glass, casted metal, wood, the tortoise is all faux painted wood from the Phillipines. I think the trend now is toward the real look, rather than high-fashion. In the 80's they were shipping $80,000.00 in orders.

This was taken from Harrice Simons Miller Costume Jewelry Book page 304-304

Hope this helps....
