LIST PRICE: $160
MY PRICE: $57
//////////////////
your price is too high for ebay!
it is more important to state the weight of 18k gold than the size of the diamond.
Some bidders are interested in selling gold jewelry to scrap dealer.
also Italian postal system is hopeless and they will probably ship Fed Exp and the insurance would cost you a bundle!!
and dont forget checking with customs on customs $$ for gold and diamond jewelry.

Tom,
you should know by now the jewelry category is one of the most saturated categories on Ebay.
check out overstock.com,you may get some buyers there as they sell nice jewelry .
if your cost is only 57 dollars (is that us or euro dollars??),there cant be much 18k gold in them?is it 18k goldplated??

purtee,purtee.

I don't trust new jewelry 18K listings on eBay simply because too many sellers have no qualms with listing egp as gold.

You will be picking a tough market to do battle in. Jewelry is not for the faint-hearted. But hey, if you can be successful selling scales on the Bay, you can probably sell jewels too!

I don't see how making a small investment and giving it a try could hurt. If you can afford it, go for it!

BTW, .012 of diamonds??? Wow! I only need my 10x loop to see them!

Yeah, I'm a spoiled brat!

I don't know anything about selling jewelry, but I have bought some - along with solid gold you need to give the size of the topaz - diamond weight is insignificant in this case

The diamond is too miniscure (cant figure how to spell ) and the topaz is heat treated,what will attract the bidder will be the gold .
with its return policy and willingness to drop ship,it sounds like 57 is really the retail price.
is this us or euro 57 dollars??
You may not be able to sell it for 57 dollars ,just my thought!

Are you saying you have converted their euro into today's us dollars?
I do business with italian jewelers,when they were on lira,they quote me us dollars,now they are part of euro union,they quote me euro.
since they will dropship,give it a try and list some items and see how well they do.
let us know

Stop - Euros are not referred to as Dollars, They are referred to as Euros and the symbol is entirely different. It would take a complete idiot to confuse one for the other.

~~~ • ~~~ • ~~~ • ~~~ • ~~~
If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?
Welcome to my world. I had very little luck making any real money with fine jewelry. I made some, but not enough to continue. It was a royal PIA. That is the ultimate "something for nothing" category. The money is in vintage or costume, believe it or not. I've made more selling vintage and costume jewelry than I did with fine jewelry.
Anyway, I'd give it a go. Your price will need to come down. Be prepared. They will ask if it's been treated in any way.
Gawd, I really hate to say this but Stop is right. The value is in the Gold. Semi-precious stones don't bring big bucks on eBay. Although, I have to say that Blue Topaz is one of my favorite stones. Next to Tanzanite, that is.
Edited to add: The Topaz is too blue to not be heat treated, IMO. Still, I do love it!
Ditto to Cheryl's post.
I tried to sell a diamond brooch for $750.00 which was appraised for $2400.00 with no luck at all. But you can get $200 up for the right piece of costume jewelry - go figure!!!
tom - you would have to have this in your hand before you could accurately judge the quality of the jewelry.
anybody can make something look good.
besides, your picture should look more like this:
(that might be a little smaller but even HSN will show a GREAT piece of jewelry and send out cr@p)
I agree with the rest of the posters. I had a man's diamond ring that I ran at Christmas two years and never got a nibble at $99. BIN. For that price I'll keep the ring and use the diamonds in something else.
Tom - I had a client who has a lot of fine new and antique jewelry. I told her she needed to have it appraised before I could list it, just for authentication purposes - age and size of diamonds, gold test, etc. She did, I ran the stuff right before Valentine's Day and NOT ONE piece sold. Her bottom line was just too high. You can buy what appears to be high quality stuff for practically nothing. In fact, you can go in good dept. and jewelry stores right now and get stuff for practically nothing. All I got out of it was a bunch of fees. I gave her all her jewelry back yesterday.
Jewelry is like car ,the minute you walk out of the store,it starts losing its value!
It used to be 300 % markup for jewelry,i dont know how much is it now??
But many mom and pop diamond and semi precious stones cutting shops have sprung up in India,along with Thailand .
They have better techniques now to remove blemishes ,color treating and making synthetic ones in the lab with or without blemish.
Brazilian emerald,anyone??
