I have been having a hard time figuring out this ... if you relist "a relist" and it sells the 3rd OR 4th (or heck, 5th) time out, is the "3rd" relist considered on ebay's records as a "1st" again? (so if it sold on the 4th relist, it would refund your 3rd listing of its relisting fees? ........ I hope you understand my question.

I just relisted an item for the fourth time. At the end when it lists the fees it stated that it is eligible for the fees to be refunded if the item sells. It's every other listing of the same item.
2nd listing - refund
3rd listing - no refund
4th listing - refund
5th listing - no refund, etc., etc.

If it doesn't sell on the 4th or 5th relist, perhaps you should consider donating it to a local gun club for target practice.

Cheryl is wrong. Her statement is the way it is suppose to work, but the system glitch does not give refunds for a relisted relist. The only way the system recognizes a listing to be eligible for the potential refund is a listing that was made fresh and that one did not sell.

Good morning, all.
lol sparkz... good idea.
toasted: thank you for that link. excerpted from it, "Only the first relisting of an item is eligible. Subsequent relistings of the same item do not qualify."
Cheryl, if I can get it together, I should prove (or disprove) it out, with a test auction.
Because if it DOES read on your listing set-up, on the 4th relist, that it IS eligible for the refund (if sold), and if in fact, ebay is NOT giving the refund, then they are really misleading a lot of people.
I have always found it impossible to reconcile my ebay statements, because of the number of auctions I run. I just "take their word for it" ... that's really stupid, I know, but that's how it is.
