going in to pay for an item I bought and I "click now" to pay. Here's what Ebay shows:
US $10.00
Shipping and handling via US Postal Service Parcel Post: US $4.14
Shipping insurance: () US $ 1.30
Seller discounts (-) or charges (+): Add

Seller Total:
US $ 15.44

BUT when I go onto log on PP - it's showing: US $10.00
Shipping and handling via US Postal Service Parcel Post: US $13.38
Shipping insurance: () US $ 1.30
Seller discounts (-) or charges (+): Add

Seller Total:
( ) US $ 24.68

Logged into PP and this time it's showing the $4.14 as postage.

The calculate postage box earlier showed $13.38? $13.00 something.

So BEFORE you start cussing out your customers - I didn't do anything other than click the PAY NOW button. I got two different amounts 2 times.

Thanks for the heads up glassgirl...there were some other posters that said people were paying the wrong shipping amounts lately

Actually I think my statement above is misleading. I wasn't logging into the PP site but clicking through the Ebay links to pay with PP.

I do see where one is not showing the complete zip code but 32XXX - which is the lower amount for shipping.

so I paid the $4.14 for shipping and she never said a word, just shipped my item out.

I received the package via UPS and put the zip and the weight in there and it cost her $10.00+ to ship it.

I went into PP and sent her some more $$ for shipping - the original balance of $13.38 that was due to her. $4.14+$1.30=$7.94 due.

Weird. You know most of US would have raised a hue and a cry saying that the bidder had tried to shortchange us.

good on you for deciding to play the honesty card.

I've shorted myself a few times before in my haste to list, can't really rememner but I think only one ever bothered to send in a couple o' bucks to even things out.

On a better note, I've also had a few people round up a dollar, or even more, over and above the amount they were told was due.

I've especially noted this with European bidders. I've always refunded any amounts that could be paid with paper money, and always made a point of thanking for the thought. Many of the buyers' feedback comments thanked me for my honesty. They really look good in my feedback list and to me are worth more than the extra buck or two I would've made by hanging on to their gift loot.
