I swear, these "phishermen" are getting smarter by the day (or just a coincidence?).

I received an e-mail from Paypal yesterday concerning a new checking account added to my account. Basically, the note said the two deposits made to my account "bounced back" as the account reads closed.

I HAD added a new account to Paypal just a few days before, BUT I had already checked with my bank and KNEW the deposits were showing.

If I had not already checked with my bank, this one may have gotten me....

I forwarded it to eBay, and it's a spoof.

I forward everything to eBay or PayPal. I let them tell me if it's good or not. These guys are getting far too clever.

I received a similar one, but if you looked closely at the address, it wasn't paypal.

I forwarded mine onto spoof.

I got one the other day for FREE ID VERIFY. Get id verified at E-Bay. I send everything to E-Bay first also...bad or good. I agree that these phishers are getting very smart. In fact, even E-Bay doesn't catch them all....a couple of weeks ago I sent an potential spoof to E-Bay...they wrote me back to tell me they weren't sure and would investigate....then got another e-mail telling me it was a spoof! BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

Yup, I do the same, never send any info in an email. Neither eBay or P/P will do this, they will tell you to go to your account & answer any questions.

your wrote...I received an e-mail from Paypal yesterday concerning a new checking account added to my account. I HAD added a new account to Paypal just a few days before, BUT I had already checked with my bank and KNEW the deposits were showing.

And paypal & ebay say this is not inside stuff. Coincidence? It happens every time I change email etc. The only person who had my email was ebay and 2 minutes after changing it I got spam from the ebay phisherman ????
