What does one do when an unscrupulous competitor wants to totally destroy your Ebay business? This particular entity stalks my auctions everyday looking for trivial listings violations....a first class LOSER!
I know Ebay policy forbids one from selling (IE)more then QTY 10 widgets using the auction format at any given time even if using differen't Ebay accounts to do so....however?
What if I want to sell a totally differen't product(s) under this newly established account? Or what if I decide to sell 4 widgests under one account, and 5 widgets under another account...still haven't violated the "Mulitple 10 policy?
Instead of this idiot focusting his attention on "Creating New Blood", he chooses to cut his own throat by making me obide to trivial listing violations which obviously he is now also subject to. Worse Ebay will sometimes "LP Pull my listings", only later to find out after I have contacted them two weeks later they were "Removed Administrativly By Mistake"

I'll never understand why the 10 law is a problem!
With Dutch auctions & Fixed price, why does anyone need to list more than 10 individual auctions?
Just added listing fees and more FVF's.
With Dutch & Fixed there is NO limit!

Becasue Dutch Auction don't work when Marketing/Selling This particular item......Scarcity creates demand, and some people bidders/buyers don't understand how Dutch Auctions Work.
IE...you have 100 widgets available when listing via the Dutch Format....some bidders think they have to purshace all 100...and again scarcity creates demand, and auctions are exciting for some people.

There is a little box down by the bid box, that asks how many they want.
That should give them a "clue" as to how many they are bidding on!
Especially since they put the # in!
I have bid on Dutch auctions on a few occasions, and found they can be a lot of Fun also!
Especially when someone else wants enough to take some away from you.
That seems to increase the intensity of bidding.
And if you as a seller don't yet understand them, thats OK, Ebay will give you the finished results.

The world seems to be selling on Ebay.
But if they don't fit your needs, Vendio hosts web sites right here within you grasp.
You can list a: Million,Billion,Trillion, if you wish and your Competition can't say squat!

I don't think your competition is the problem, but you are. Something being trivial is really pretty subjective. The point is that we all are supposed to play by the same rules, the only reason that I can see why you are breaking these "trivial" rules is because it creates an advantage for you. Your competition doesn't want to crush you necessarily, they want you to play the game fairly.

lol. the thread title here reminds me of that comedy program a ways back where one of the characters closes his thumb and forefinger repeatedly on a person, way off in the distance, while saying "I'm crushing your head...I'm crushing your head!"
What was that program "New Kids on the Block"...something like that?

Ebayvet....."You Won't Be Singing The Same Tune", when someone cleans out your Ebay store...etc....and makes operating your business on Ebay extremely difficult.
You "Assume" that I'm breaking as you quoted "Trivial Listing Violations", which are subjective when you don't know/fully understand all the details and little nuances in regards to this situation
I'm sure you also think it's perfecty "AOKAY" that this particular entity reported listing violations to Ebay which were "Removed Anminstrativly In Error"....guess my competition was playing by the "Rules Once Again"....and this wasn't infact auction interference..Give Me A Break!
So now I have Litteraly 20 other competitors selling their merhcandise in the exact same manner....."Guess The "Games" Playingfield Isn't So Level Anymore is it"?

dadofstickboy,
My sites almost finished...however how does one go about getting traffic to thier vendio store? You can't have a link in your Ebay listings driving traffic to your Vendio store correct? The SEO search Engine company I'm going through requires $3,900 a year for a first page ranking on the major SEOs....for a string of 20 keywords.

No, Trivial Listing Violations are subjective period. Either you are in compliance with ebay's terms, or you aren't. If you've been reported, and your listings are pulled or you or given a warning, that means you are not in compliance. I don't buy it that ebay is contacting you two weeks later to tell you they removed your listings in error.
I don't wish it on anyone to have their ebay business messed with. Someone going into your store and purchasing items without paying for them is a very different situation that someone reporting you for listing violations. If someone did that to me (buy in my store without paying) I would have an attorney involved.

Ebayvet I don't care what you "Buy And Don't Buy", I'm not selling you anything! The Bottom line is YES I was contacted via email two weeks after the listings were removed in error with a teeny tiny little apology. I also spoke to a gal at Ebay who investigated the matter.
Just out of curiosity how many succesful transactions do you conduct a month? It's usually either A: Ebay Rookies, or B: Those who sell their used jeans on Ebay who don't fully undertand the time consuming nature associtated with situations such as these.

Excel - Is this the same seller that you feel has been harassing you all along?
At any rate, you'd best be careful after your last suspension experience - I would guess ebay is not going to give you much slack.
Have you thought about using a featured auction instead of all those one day ones? I may be wrong but you pay the same $20 to feature an auction for 10 days as shorter terms.

Vet - come on - this is the same person that was so upset that ebay had the gall to actually suspend them after they repeatedly ignored warnings from them that they were violating rules. Excel here simply believes that what is good for them is the right thing to do and to hell with anyone that says differently, including ebay. they have already had a 30 day suspension, obviously they kearned absolutely nothing form this will continue to do whatever they damn well please and then when the hammer comes down will blame absolutely everyone but themselves and then come here for comfort and sympathy.

Yes, that's the one! I'm crushing your head...I'm crushing your head.
But not to denigrate Excelrye's troubles, just an image that flashed in my head. Can't be a good situation to be in, and I sympathize if he is being hounded unfairly. As a seller of ant/coll's with almost everything fairly unique (if not rare or expensive), I'm barely qualified to comment on the ins/outs of selling lines of multiple widgets and the competition's tricks encountered in doing so, but since Excelrye posted here asking
"What does one do when an unscrupulous competitor wants to totally destroy your Ebay business? This particular entity stalks my auctions everyday looking for trivial listings violations"
then FWIW, I'd do my best to stick to ebay's rules, much like other posters have suggested. It is ebay's sandbox after all. Now if this were to happen on YOUR website, YOUR rules, then that's another story...

If you're selling knives, it was not a competitor that turned you in. He doesn't need to. Ebay has people that carefully scrutinize every single auction listed in those categories. The reason is, because of the totally screwed up laws concerning knives here in California. You can walk down main street in any town in this state with a fully loaded Glock .45 concealed on your self, and if you don't have a permit, it's only a misdemeanor if you get caught. If you are merely in possession of certain types of knives, in your own home, it's a felony which can land you and the person you got it from in state prison. Ebay wants no part of this mess, even if they're "only a venue". They still have to live in the same state as the Attorney General of California. During the course of their examination of your auction, they will discover any technical listing violations and bust you for it. You live in a glass house. Get used to it or move out of it. I fully expect the knives and swords to be the next items banned from Ebay as it's costing them too much to police the categories and exposing them to potential liability.
