I ought to check "My Ebay" messages more frequently - just saw the message that listing upgrades are on sale for 8/10 and 8/11 listings. 50% off featured, subtitle, homepage features and border.

A few months ago when they had this sale, I thought I'd be slick and do all my listings with these features while they were on sale, but scheduled them out for the next few weeks.

Imagine my surprise when I found out that the fees that are in effect when the auction launches, not created, are what you are charged.

Expensive lesson learned. You can't beat Ebay.

I was ready last time and listed two high ticket items and both sold - I made $700 with pretty low fees.

I decided to list nothing in August, and a listing upgrade sale won't change my mind.

Anyway, I'm going on vacation in less than a couple of weeks, so I couldn't really do it anyway.

I've got 139 auctions primed for after Labor Day, and hope to have more than 150 before I go away. Since I do one-off auctions, that's a lot for me.

Will all those upgrades help one's item sell any better? These could be their slow sellers. The only one of value I should think would be the gallery pic and they never discount those anymore. The 10 cent charge they added to the original 25 cent has not seemed to discourage too many from using it so I do not think Ebay's excuse of adding that extra charge in order to cut down on it's useage and speed download time has any merit. They did it because they could.

Marcia,

I'm closed as far as auctions go: 0. I don't leave until the 20th, so I've been preparing auctions. I'm at 143 primed to go, and hope to have many more before I leave.

I am taking it easy though... no shipping, no hassles, just a little intake and auction preparation.
