Check out the Light Cubes on ebay. Much less expensive and colapse so much easier to store.

Search on Cube Lite -- We just replaced a self-made light tent we crafted from PVC tubing, using white material as our difusion for the lights.

B&H Photo has them cheaper than anyone on eBay and cheaper than CubeLite.com - the manufacturer. They shipped from NYC and we had it in PA in about 2-3 days.

Don't go the route of buying the expensive lights that they include with a "package." Got to Lowes or Home Depot and get 2 round task lights (aluminum 1/2 globe-like shields) with clamps - for about $12-15 each - then clamp them to anything you can make a vertical post - We've opted to get good light stands - bought them on eBay - because they are easily folded up and tucked into the closet along with the folded CubeLite.

Right now, I can have the photo set up "set up" and running in about 15 minutes in my living room. Makes for an afternoon of photos - then fold it all back up, tuck it away into the closet - and the house is back to normal.

The PVC pipes were a lot harder to handle and took up room in the basement.

I know I've seen a better example but can't find it. The other one showed shooting down the opening of the top.

Here is the thread on the tortilla warmer but all the pictures are gone! And this guy Juan has some great pictures!

"I discovered today that the high technology tortilla warm keepers are fantastic for taking jewelry pictures.
The seamless all around white walls produce more brilliant pictures and the corners are not reflected in the pieces, like in a box.

This high tech devices are of about 8" diameter, made of polystyrene foam, I cut two holes, one at the floor level to put the lens and take front pictures and one hole a little higher to take also part of the shanks."

niel - if she'll go over there to Diamondtalk they can give her some great hints on taking pictures of jewelry.
