HCQ was a poster who used to grace these boards a long time ago & used to "instruct" me when I would ask stooopid newbie questions! She was informative but BLUNT (to put it mildly)!
Over the years, a lot of really super posters have left the EO: I miss...
Shosh Jerry12 HCQ
and a whole bunch of others...
FINALLY~ We now know where TURD-BLOSSOM sits when he visits the OVAL OFFICE:

Oh boy, do I ever miss those guys too.
I know where shosh is, over at inkfrog.com & posts under the ame viola.
HCQ was at OTWA, but left about two years ago saying she was spending too much time posting & not enough time quilting & said goodbye.
jerry12, How I would love to know where he is. At one time I thought classic might be jerry because he had, in some ways, the same kind of humor.
When your as funny as jerry12 you have to think he's posting somewhere, but where? He's a mystery & I don't think anyone knew anything about him. He just vanished the same night many posters left AW.
kiara was very good at locating his old posts & I never got tired of reading them.
I also miss:
fluffy
zilvy
barrybarris
eventer
executivegirl
&
kiara, where is she??
classic, where is he??
Seems like great posters are leaving again.
Tom, feeling any better ???
Miss you & Ralphie too.

Gongratulations Ralphie on 2000 feedback.
Tom, you have put in a lot of hard work and your quick response in assisting others is greatly appreciated. Hope you are feeling better, you have to as Ralphie needs you and so do all of us on EO
By the way I am moving up your way from Miami.
St. Augustine is my destination

WOW! St Augustine is my favorite city in FL -- really a beautiful place. Wish me-&-Ralphie could afford it LOL!
My kid & his family live just south of there in PALM COAST -- used to be a sleepy little town & now is a real BOOMER. THAT COUNTY is the FASTEST GROWING county in the WHOLE USA!
Have my appointment this AM & hopefully I'll get my oil changed & treads rotated & be back to my ole nasty obnoxious self by tomorrow. Poor Ralphie has been wondering where his "ole man" has been hiding over the past month! Haven't had the energy to devote "quality time" to him lately
to all...TOM & RALPHIE

Went to St. Augustine twice on day trips when I was visiting someone in Jacksonville - I love it there! The buildings are gorgeous and I wish I could have spent more time there. I didn't even get to see their beaches, but I heard they're incredible.

Congratulation: to You and Ralphie!
I remember Hart Cottage Quilts as a great poster. Yes, she was blunt but her "Van Gogh" thread was the most engrossing thread I every read. I used to rush home from work to check on the latest chapter.
Doing some research on a rug shuttle I found her site which is full of information on the history of quilts. If you have not visited it and are interested in fabric or needlework it is an awsome site!

CONGRATS from moi to Tom and Ralphie.
Hope Tom is feeling better.
I have been with Vendio~Auction Watch since 1999 did not post much for years. I remember some of those posters mentioned. They may have moved to other services.
Tom, I know what ya mean about asking questions. My first steps into this realm was very wobbly. I can recall how much time it took me to upload one photo to eBay~~YIKES
Been in sales forever but this was a very new turf! I still shake my head at times and ask questions cuz I still am learning.
Tom and Ralphie congratulation and good work

Do ya remember Jerry12's post about his "African-American Memorbilia?" And all the pics of sweet little A-A children in the said memorbilia? And he needed a WORD to describe these kids for his auction titles? And he finally came up with the #1 LEAST POLITICALLY-CORRECT word for an auction-title in eBay history???
I couldn't get off the floor, I was PIMP & spewing coffee all over the place!!

Tom, how could I have missed that one, have no recollection whatsoever.
Wish kiara could find & post it.
I remember the:
turtle table lamps
should I pay again
selling the cow
plastic vomit
The vomit post was my first exposure to jerry & I believed every word, it was so funny & I still fell for it.
And on a thead about super yard sale finds he posted he came across a poor looking elderly couple's yard sale who among their stuff had a ring that they thought was a zircon
which he knew was a large diamond. He haggled them down to 5.00 & also made them throw in a book, The Pokey Puppy.
He then went to a jeweler & sold the ring for something like 5000.00 & made a profit of 4995.00 His best find!!!
What made it so funny was that the next poster, who obviously had no idea who jerry12 was, believed him & really let him have it for pulling a dirty trick on a poor elderly couple. Was she ever mad.
One of the mods had to calm her down by trying to explain jerry12's sense of humor.

I am really sorry I missed jerry12~!!!
Tom, I have been going through the alphabet trying to figure out a non-PC word that rhymes with "piglets" - maybe it's too early or maybe I am being blonde again, but I can't come up with one!
Glad you are feeling spunky again!

He wanted our HELP because the number of characters in an eBay title was severely restricted & he needed a word that would gain instant recognition of what he was selling...
