Is it possible to check the names of people who are actually watching an auction. or is that just a pipe dream.?

Can't say for 100% certain, but yes, I'd say it's a pipe dream. Often wished I could check who the watchers are, but I guess that would be a loss of privacy rights for the watchers. The one way around that is I figure some of the people who asked a question could be watchers, but I usually get less questions that watchers.

I wish to heck there was, but I've tried every which way and you can't as far as I know.

I would love that info also. I often wonder if they are truly interested or have the same item. What really hurts is when the watch number drops before the auction is over - I always tell myself it's because they put in a sniper bid!!!

sthoemke I agree I use the watch feature myself but find that I don't bid on 50% of the items I watch...even! It is a seller watch thing I suspect... have one want to watch and see what happens before you spend your money listing yours. I had 38 watchers on an item last week and it didn't take one additional bid the last day my hopes were dashed!!

My porcelain and decorative items always get alot of watchers - I think there are a whole group of sellers out there who add almost all no reserve porcelain items to their watch list just to make sure it doesn't go for the opening bid.
I'm up to 45 watchers on a Limoges piece - it will start to drop once it reaches $150 or so. They annoy me as much as the watchers on the fixed price and store items.
