Like many eBay sellers we have several eBay accounts for different type products.
However, we have just one Vendio account because we like to see an integrated view of all our ebay activity.
This means that we have to switch eBay accounts in our Vendio preferences many times per day.
We've suggested to Vendio that support for multiple eBay accounts would be a good thing. The silence has been deafening.
Wonder if I'm alone on this wish-list item?

I should mention that we only use the online Sales Manager because we're a Macintosh shop and Vendio doesn't support Macs with their off-line product.

I didn't know you could do that...switch the information in your account. How does that work on your active and closed listings. Do they all show up together from all the accounts?

Yes, if you have just one Vendio account and multiple ebay accounts you can get all of the information (active listings, pending listings, and completed listing to appear in one place).
However, the rub is that you must change the ebay account in your Vendio preferences to be sure you're in the right eBay account before you launch an auction.
It would be a fairly trivial programming task for Vendio to add multiple ebay account support. I don't know why they don't seem to be interested. It would greatly improve the value of their services to us.
They're constantly adding new and worthless features while ignoring simple requests for functionality that is sorely needed. This is a prime example.
The auction venue for each product should be stored with the auction item. The item should automatically launch to the correct ebay account without the user having to even think about it (much less be constantly switching accounts).

would this also be the same reason they can't add a STICKY to the top of these forums so that they could put the Smilies and How To (post a pic - post an url etc) there? Lazy programming.
They have our money and that's enough.

So for instance. If I launch a book auction through one ebay account and after a couple of runs it doesn't sell all I have to do to list it in my store under the other seller name is go in under my accounts and change the info for my store account and I won't have to type in any new information....it's all there.
I wish I had known that. I have two ebay accounts I don't sell much on because I didn't want to open more then one Vendio account for post sale management.
Yes...if you can find a work around to work with more then one account anyway...why can't they just make easier for you...yes...I can see that.
I suppose you need to make certian your vendio account is set with the name of whichever account you have closing that day or it won't pick up your closed auctions? Or will it?

Everything comes in from eBay just fine.
The only thing you have to worry about is switching accounts when you are ready to lauch an auction.
Suppose you sell toys from ebay account MyToys
And you sell auto parts from ebay account MyParts
And you sell pajamas from ebay account MyPajamas
You set up those accounts because you didn't want to mix together toys, auto parts, and pajamas in the same ebay store or auctions. That's logical.
You have just one Vendio account because you want to see everything you're selling together (eg: all of your auctions ending today in one list regardless of whether auto parts, pajamas, or toys).
This works just fine if you which your Vendio preferences to the correct account before you lauch each auction.
If you forget to switch accounts you auto parts will show up in your pajama store (not a pretty picture).
They could fix that easily if they would show an interest in solving a simple customer problem.

Yeah - but you are not the one looking for a solution to a problem, are you?

Hello,
I have a question. I see that you all are mentioning having multiple ebay accounts. I just started working for a company that has multiple ebay accounts to sell their products.
The problem is that they had problems in the past with it because I guess ebay doesn't allow you to have multiple seller accounts. They have had some accounts in the passed suspended because ebay tracked the IP Address or location that was recorded when they logged into the separate accounts from the same ISP and location.
Now the company has several different computers each with its own dedicated internet service through different providers to keep it from happening again.
I just set them up a Vendio account. I was wanting to know if any of you had similar issues in the past with this and how you dealt about going around it? Does linking multiple ebay accounts into vendio create a risk of being discovered of having multiple seller accounts?
I just really need someone to clear this up for me and give me some good advice.

I didn't know you could do that either.
It would really make life easier (and less expensive) if Vendio would give this support.
myzenhost - I've had 3 seller's accounts for years with no problem. There must be more to your employer's story??

I am starting to agree. I will try and find out today what happened in the past.
I want to link up all of their accounts so that I can keep an accurate stock count. We will see. Ill post here once I know more.

Hello,
Linking all of them under a single Vendio account wouldn't get you 'caught' in itself, but there are some things that would put you at risk by doing so.
1. When you link your Vendio account to those eBay accounts you have to store a token on file before it will work. You would want to be sure to do the token saving process for each ID on that ID's specific computer. If you were to go through the token process for each ID on the same machine, im sure eBay will then have that same IP address as accessing all 3 accounts and link them together.
2. Your ads may all look identical. When you use a single system to manage multiple ID's, your listings would typically look the same (without a lot of other work to create unique "ads" for every item/eBay ID.) Ive heard of eBay using this as a way to 'prove' that someone is the same seller, when the listings match up word for word and design to design.
That said, there are a number of sellers that list to more than one eBay ID these days. eBay doesn't always frown on multiple ID's, unless it's solely to skirt their duplicate listing policies. So depending on what your trying to avoid, set your approach accordingly.
Regards,
Chris
