I just realized that by answering emails through my ISP, they do not go to the person who asked the question! They go to ebay never-neverland! Sometimes I'm in too much of a hurry to go through signing in and putting in the new numbers. I know this is supposed to be for our protection(?), but, I can't help but feeling that ebay is getting more and more into our personal affairs. I don't know how many sales I may have lost because these people never received an answer to their questions.

The only ones that will not go through are the ones that have the "Mail To" address as "UseTheYellowButton". I have quit responding to messages through eBay if possible so I can include my promo messages in the outgoing message.

If someone requests that you provide additional photos, it's a real pain if you get the usetheyellowbutton email crap. There's no way to forward the pics if you respond through Ebay - you have to request they email you again and provide their email address, or if there's more than 12 hours left in the auction, add the photos.
Pain in the butt!

I have decided that some are writing a cover-it-all question and simply pasting it into any auction they might be interested in. Then wasting our time with dumb answers that are already IN the auction. My latest if from a woman asking about a large group of Cabbage Patch doll BOOKS & PATTERNS. She wants to know if she has to MAKE these things? No, you cut out the little pictures and paste them on the doll, I want to reply, but do not. You gotta bite your tongue some times. Ack!

Alas, the hackers are getting smarter. By hitting the yellow reply button in my email, I downloaded a virus that got my eBay account hacked and destroyed my puter. Although I disliked eBay's messaging system, now I see the need for it and have an auto-reply on my email that tells folks to contact me through eBay or they will be ignored.

"Are you answering ASQ thru My Ebay messages?"
Any question from anybody. It could be after an auction is won. They may want to know if I've shipped yet. I would have normally just clicked "reply" and answered that way. Now I'm wondering if ANY of my answers have been received.
I've always hesitated about clicking on the yellow "respond" button. How long do you think it will be before the hackers can duplicate that button?...if they already haven't (I think they have). It is such a pain to have to sign into My Ebay in order to give a three word answer!

Always sign in to eBay and answer from the message section , never click a link in the email that is the safe way to answer messages. If they are legitimate questions they will be in the message section of My eBay.

I'm making a list and checking it twice!

I never answer the questions from email anymore. I hate that they make us (for questions not attached to an item) go in and submit that weird code. If the buyer uses a real email, I will just answer via email. If they hide their email and it is a question that is not attached to an item, I simply delete. If it is attached to an item, I just go to that item and answer the question from ebay directly.
