A friend of mine just had a bunch of auctions pulled because the United States Olympic Committee claimed VERO. These are authentic pins for the 2008 Olympics, but the producer is the official producer for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and not Aminco, the Licencee of the USOC. Since the pins were being sold "worldwide" the USOC claimed rights on the Rings, and Logo within the US and had the Auction pulled. Any suggestions for my friend?

Don't sell "worldwide" - eliminate the country causing the problem. Since it sounds like the problem is with the US group, you may have a serious problem.

Thank outside the box - if the problem is selling them in the USA, then list them on another eBay. You can always exclude US bidders, and foreign bidders often pay more anyway.
If the USOC gets troublesome with more VeROs then go visit the eBay VeRo and Copyright Forum. It's moderated by Karen Dudnikov and Michael Meadors (eBay ID: Tabberone) who can show you how to successfully fend off further Intellectual Property violation complaints.

That's what I was thinking. Using Ebay.ca (Canada) and listing to every region except the U.S. Every other nation in the world will allow them in, I guess the U.S. doesn't believe in free trade.

The violation is problably the use of the rings and logo in the image, not the actual product being sold.
Maybe if you covered up the rings and logo in your pictures, the USOC couldn't claim VERO. (you then also wouldn't need to worry about Olympic committees from other countries as well)

Who else thinks some of this Vero stuff sucks? If I have a pin and I bought and paid for it then why can't I turn around and sell it, it was not stolen from the makers and if you don't want it anymore then why not pass it on to someone. SUCH a PITA.
Everyone should go read some of the Vero things it is getting worse and worse. Like the autographs and celibrity stuff.
Yes I realize that they are trying to stop unauthorized sells and by theifs etc etc but when it comes to selling some things you can sure get into a hornets nest for sure.
