I have so many items to list would this be the way for me to go. Most of the items will only require 1 photo.
Some questions:
Do you offer discounts for multiple buys?
Do you offer discounts for repeat buyers?
Do you have a store and also list through regular auctions? If so do you list as much or depend on the buyer to go to your store?
Do you list your store items through vendio or if only 1 image is used is it cheaper to list through eBay only?
Any help would be appreciated as I need to reduce my inventory and I would like to do it quickly.
Thanking everyone in advance. If I forgot to ask any other questions please give your input it would be appreciated.

I have a store and also run auctions. Basically my auctions are advertising for my stores so I spread the launch times of my items out to hit "prime time" in all time zones. Since you can now include the left frame of your store (otherwise know as your catagory directory) in your auctions it's a fantastic way to funnel people into your store. Right now I average two store sales to every auction sale and 70% of my buyers are purchasing more than one item
I do not offer discounts for return customers (yet) but do offer combined shipping discounts on multiple purchases (half off shipping on each additional item).
I use works to launch everything because otherwise, my inventory counts would go out the window

I haven't had much luck with the store yet but I'm still setting it up and took a vacation a week ago so that always slows things down.
I did a few listing last night and offered to ship store items of the same type for free.
Would your items do well in a auction lot? I've been having some really good luck lately with lots. That always clears the inventory fast and they take less time to do than a bunch of small auctions or store listings.

Take full advantage of the added catagories, sub catagories, and the listing frame!!
You no longer have to only rely on the store icon to bring people into your store - you can use your catagories as a visable advertisement in every listing of your full line of products.
I also use a banner ad of sorts in all of my templates to check out my clearance items. Anything that is on clearance I add a three letter code to the end of the title and the bnner add works as a link to a store search for those three letters.
As frustrating as today has been for me (needed to pick up items at three different stores ... turns out all three were closed for Easter) it's been great for my store. Already had a dozen sales, and all but one were of multiple items.
Know that you need to still run some aucxtions to bring people to your store so put a couple of your coolest most attention grabbing items up for auction at prices a little lower than you might normally do so. think of them as advertising costs. Does it really matter if you only broke even on the auction item if it results in half a dozen or a dozen sales in your store?

Like fenix, I do both, but not for the same reason. I do Trading Assistant & alwys put these items on auction. I usually have at least 100 items in my store. I have several "collectible" items that are slow movers. Putting them the store for 2 cents make sense. Hows hat for a play on words? LOL

I have several of each rubber stamp I sell & am thinking of opening a store, but have no idea how to go about it, but i'm learning.
Do all store items have to be fixed price or BIN ?

Works is a Vendio like service. you can do all of your launches, inventory management, custom template profiles (allows you to store and assign multiple templates to fit a variety of different types of items) and more.
If I were to lauch some items from Works and then do others manually as Libra asked about, it would be the equivalent of selling out of the back of the shop and really screw up my inventory tracking numbers.
All store items do have to be a set fixed price although obviously your active auctions will be visable within the store as well.
You would be surprised at some of the sales that stores bring. I have two items that despite starting auction prices of half of the fixed store price, have never sold once a auction but I have sold a dozen in the store. Then I have items that people get into auction bidding wars but never check my store to see that the same item is there for less than bidding ends up at.

Thanks fenix:
Now, I'm trying to figue this out:
If I were to lauch some items from Works and then do others manually as Libra asked about, it would be the equivalent of selling out of the back of the shop and really screw up my inventory tracking numbers.
Are you saying I should launch all my auctions & store items with my auction management program, I do have one, & not do some with eBay & others with my program ?

Personally i would not for a number of reasons. If an item that I launch thru works sells, it is removed from my inventory count. If I list manually and it sells, my inventory count is going to reflect that i have more items in stock than I do which could result in me making a sale I cannot complete.
The other reason is that Works gives me reporting capabilites that I depend on to decide what items will go to auction, which will stay in my store and which will go into clearance. If I list manually, the success rate numbers become skewed.

You are welcome. Always happy to help when I can.
Figure I have already made pretty much any mistake you can make - might as well help someone else avoid doing the same .

MESSAGE FOR FENIX: would you please tell me how to get my directory into my listings? I find this maddening, and just can't seem to get it right.
Thanks much, Melissa at Laser Quilt on ebay
