I just did a search on "Remington hunting dog". Eight came up...only FOUR had the word "hunt" or "hunting". The other four had no such word..even in the description.
Has anyone else found this before??

Since eBay rolled back the store search, the search function has been totally screwed up!

I searched Remington Hunting Dog and 8 items showed up. All had Remington in the title. Then I put the search words in quotes and only one auction showed up.

I have found that in certain categories, the category name gets included in the title search, even if it is not included in the title. I think this is true of several jewelry categories. Unfortunately, its not included in postcards, so I have to try to fit the word postcard in every title.

It is an effect of ebay's fuzzy logic.

If you use plus signs before the keywords, only 2 listings will show up.

+Remington +Hunting +Dog

Add "Search title and description" and you get 81 items...

I agree. eBay Search has been a mess for quite awhile. Must be discouraging for new customers. They come to eBay thinking they'll find "IT", and there just aren't that many "ITS" showing up, unless they've honed their 'Net search skills.

Like most of you, just wish they would leave well-enough alone!

I got the same thing with a search I did this morning for Craft Brooch - there were 10 or 15 that didn't have Craft in the title but when I open them - they were listed under something like Craft or Arts & Crafts etc. I think this is a good thing if it works like this all the time. If you want to list a piece of depression glass, that's two words you can eliminate from your title.
