Does anyone know a good drop shipper? I checked out about 15 Doba items and compared the wholesale price to closed item high bids and looked like you would lose money on each item?????????
Thanks

Nana, that's the lesson to be learned. If everyone else can find it, you won't be able to make money with it on ebay.
You have to find your own niche. Those who have found it won't tell you where they found it. Those who haven't found it yet are still paying for the lesson.
Heck, even those of us who have found it are still paying for the lessons because the game changes daily.
Have you been watching thos late night info-mercials about how to get rich on eBay?? The only one getting rich are the guys selling the book.
If you want to be a stay at home mom and make your living on eBay, think about what you know best. Then think about something you know that others may not know. That will be the key to creating a great business.
Use what you know to find an item or idea that others would want but not many people are supplying.
Drop shippers supply items that everyone already has or do not want.

This is a blanket statement which ain't really true...
Better to say:
"Drop shippers (that charge you a fee for the privilege of selling their items, usually from a catalog of trash called WORLD OF PRODUCTS) supply items that everyone already has or do not want."
Virtually all major retailers on the internet use "drop-shippers" -- when you buy that mP3Player from AMAZON, do ya think they keep one in their "warehouse," just waiting to ship to YOU??!!
The trick is to find TRUE drop-shippers -- and they ARE out there!
Remember, if they are charging you a "SUBSCRIPTION" fee to hawk their trash, they ain't true drop-shippers...RATHER, they make their profit from selling SUBSCRIPTIONS as opposed to selling PRODUCTS!

The one thing you want to remember, if you are using a drop shipper, you are advertising and selling items you do not have on hand or own and that you have never seen and cannot deliver. You are 100% at the mercy of the drop shipper's reliability and honesty. If you get connected with a bad drop shipper, your image can change from a successful and reliable internet merchant to a fraudster and scam artist overnight. The next step is a string of negative feedbacks, consumer complaints to the authorities and a ban from Ebay's site. Be aware of the possible pitfalls and be very, very careful and know exactly what you are doing before you deal with dropshippers.

What would the difference be made if you advertised items from a well-known company, then used your credit card to purchase the item and have it shipped to a different address? Are there any pitfalls in that?
OF COURSE one MUST deal ONLY with GOOD drop-shippers -- or yer eBay FB will go into da dumpster!
It takes a lot of WORK & LUCK to find GOOD ones -- I've been lucky!
BUT, by drop-shipping, I'm able to present a 1/2 million dollar inventory without having to spend a DIME!
The THREE drop-shippers I use (TWO manufacturers & ONE vendor) all provide me with EXCELLENT CS & maintain a 99% IN-STOCK status, plus they constantly keep me up to date with stock-status...

Most major retailers wil ship to whomever and wherever you want, some do not ship to foreign address.
The risk is on your side-say your customer does not like the item and return it back to the retailer, and the retailer may have restriction like obtain a return tag first or cannot credit your account based on erroneous or insufficient information on the return package.
Or your customer may have returned used or damaged goods or a box of rocks!!
Or he can return the item to you and you have to return to the retailer, incurring extra shipping costs.
Since you never see or handle the physical goods, you have to rely on either what your customer said he received or what the shipper said they have shipped, you are caught in the middle.
Last but not least, why do you want to do that,I am assuming you are paying retail price and selling it on Ebay, where is the profit??

Bizzycrocheting, your question reminds me of a thread some time ago (why do I remember eBay Outlook threads from months/years ago and can't remember that I need to buy coffee?) about a man who would go to an antique mall and ask to take a Polaroid of an item to show his wife, post the photo on eBay, and if it sold go back and buy the item. He had the nerve to complain when an item he sold on eBay had already sold in the Mall.

Tom...It goes without saying. You've been doing this for a zillion years and you know where all the land mines are buried, so you know to watch your step. The OP appears to be fairly new to Ebay and I would hate to see her crash and burn on takeoff. Dropshipping is something only sellers with a few years of experience should consider getting into.

Go to wholesale district or merchandise mart and ask if it is okay to take pictures and sell them on ebay, most dont mind and leave them with a phone number to call you if the item is sold while the listing is still active on Ebay.
Another approach is to buy the item if they agree -if item does not sell, you can come back and exchange it for another item.

How many of you remember another thread- an Ebay seller sold a PC for 3k using dropshipping.
She accepted the paypal payment from the bidder but dropshipper was slow in shipping.
Bidder filed complaint with paypal on the 7th day and by the time seller obtained an online trackable DC to give to Paypal,it was already too late.
Paypal reversed the payment, seller is out t 3k,she still have to pay her dropshipper while the buyer got a free PC.
(Paypal policy-ship within 7 days after payment is made)

Other than the fact that some sellers are incompetent morons, and some "drop-shippers" are totally 100% unreliable, yer anecdote illustrates WHAT, exactly?

My point is -with electronics ,some folks just know how to scam,it does not take much to figure most Ebay electronic sellers dropship and here lies the opportunity to get some free merchandise.
The pc probably will show up on Ebay again and this 'seller' will have the pc on hand and get great feedback for fast shipping.
Tom,
dont take it so personal, this is a free board and we discuss pros and cons so the person who asks the question get to read all and decide for himself/herself.
Now this may be OT,but a few months ago I asked this board about selling for others and I got some great advice.
But I decided to go ahead and do it,now I know better, but if I just heed the advice and not do it,would I know what it is like ?

Tom,
I am going to read 2006 annual report of a company called Bombardier,it has already gone up over 50% for me in 6 weeks.
Take the profit you make on those scales and buy their Class B shares,it will give you a nice return.
One thing great about touting good stock is that there is no need to keep it secret, the more people know and buy,the better for everyone, except the short sellers!!
Adios

Third largest aircraft maker in the world, unfortunately there is a big distance between the second (Boeing) and the third!
They also make ground transportation equipment,NYC subway is theirs.
It is a turnaround story-
possible winner of the 1.2 billion Montreal subway contract,to be announced in May.
Also bidded on Toronto subway project ,800 millions deal.
China and India are expected to order thousand of planes in the next 20 years, there will be enough business for all aircraft makers.
China plans to spend 22 billions on bullet trains,so there will be enough business to go around Bombardier,ALstrom,Siemens etc.
People tend to think of Intel,Microsoft,Cisco when they think of technology, but how many of us know how to build airplanes??
