should have given him story your dogs don't get along with people so well.
I have only had 3 pickups and all times I had item outside waiting for them and they never once asked to come inside. I would not let them in if they asked, nor give them water in a glass point to water hose. LOL
************** Check it out

eww, that gives me the creeps! I live in the country, so any buyer pick ups are done right in the Mc D's parking lot in town, lots of people around. I use my po box address so people aren't just coming over.. I know they can look in the phone book, but as of a month ago we got rid of the land line and just use our cells, so I'm safe there after the next phone book comes out.
A friend of mine had a creepy guy pick up a Victrola at her house. He had to come in because she couldn't carry it (I would have had someone put it outside before he came, but she said it was a girl, name of Sandy). While there he started asking her personal questions, and she had to ask him to leave. About 10 minutes later he came back and knocked, so she did not answer the door. The guy walked around the house peeking in the windows, so she had to call 911. He left before the police got there, so they just said if he came back to call them. He didn't, luckily, but you just NEVER know about people.

Please, please tell us you locked the door while you went to get the glass of water!! And, yes, I would have tossed the glass too.

I'm confused. If you don't want a stranger to use your bathroom, why on earth would you suggest that they do it behind your house???
Have you looked back there???

This made me almost pee from laffing.
I have never allowed pickup at my home. From time to time a weirdo buyer will creep me out enuff through the WWW.
His religious ritual did not take the whole glass of water?
Hmmmmmm , whatever he was required to wash must be very small (grin)

It sounds like he was an Orthodox Jew. Orthodox Jews are obliged to wash their hands after using the loo (or the woods) and are not permitted to speak of G-d or anything Holy (which includes the Hebrew language) or touch Holy books until after they have done so.
Ideally, hot water and soap are also used to kill germs but the ritual and prayer are even more important so under somewhat trying circumstances, a simple glass of water will suffice.

Thanks for the insight, Zip. Makes the story less scary. In any case, adults should know to 'take care of business' before taking care of business ESPECIALLY if they have ritualistic requirements.

We too thought not to have pick up at the house so we use a PO box number too. My brilliant husband told the guy meet me at the Speedway at the state Route by the pay phone.
This is not a good idea!! They were doing a drug deal in the parking lot while he was doing his trading. Needless to say I thought we were all going to jail and he was just doing Ebay. We have laughed about this for years but I was really ticked at him. We could have gotten hurt too.

iSoldIt sellers charge a manditory $5 for pickup. That's problably a good idea to state some type of pickup fee if you care to allow pickup.
