I found this in an auction. Does anyone know anything about it? I am wondering if an auction would be cancelled if a blocked bidder bids. I have a lot of blocked bidders.-

"*Attention to my eBay Customers* eBay has a new policy of canceling an entire auction if there is a bid on it from an unauthorized account. There is nothing I can do about it, so if in the future this or any of my auctions are canceled abruptly it is most likely because of this new eBay administration policy."

I don't think the guy's talking about blocked bidders. I believe he's referring to accounts that have been "hijacked" by spammers.

He is talking about someone who says the bid was placed by an unauthorized person.

I HAve had two that have been ended that way in the past month.

And, as usual, Ebay does everything in the most difficult way possible.

They can't (or won't) just cancel the bid or send an email in the case of a closed listing saying the person did not buy and we should relist.

They actually delete (as in POOF it's gone forever) the listing and you have to start over from scratch.

If you had multible bidders bidding on your item you are just out of luck (as are the other bidders).

Apparently a lot of mischief has been going on over on Ebay where people decide to buy hundreds or thousands of BIN items with a hi-jacked account.

Thanks for explaining. I was hoping it wasn't for blocked bidders. I have a few of them that would love that.

eBay cancels and deletes all listing that have been bidded on by hijacked account (aka unauthorized). Yes, the seller is forced to start over from scratch, which is really lame of eBay in my opinion.

I believe they do that so that there will be no trace of the activity.
