Yep. But for those of us who might get just one bid on certain categories of items, that's the pits!

In the postcard category: those with median shipping charges get slightly more bids, rarely above opening. They are usually non-full-time postcard sellers and don't realize they are not breaking even. They spoil many listings for the rest of us. If they make a profit on their listings, I would not complain. They don't, because, from my analysis, they don't take unsold listings into account, which is only a slightly lower percentage than mine. I've noticed that experienced sellers who have tried the 99 cent model have quickly retracted.

.99 cents auctions ... I would rather just pitch my inventory.

My profit margin is not that great anyway.

But if I am going to give it away, I sure will not take a photo, write up description.pay fees to list it. Then it sells for .99 or a whopping $1.99,pay more fees, pack it, get it to PO and wait to see if they approve of it, when it is delivered to their door.

I will just have DH to back up a truck to the building and off to the dump it will go.

NOPE, I kid ya not, I would rather trashed it then work to give it away.

Some sellers have sold items for some time for less than they pay for it. This lowers "in buyers minds" the value forever of those items .

Really I do not care if a buyer tells me so and so sells this for XXX , but I need the size and color you have, but want you to sell it to me at the other seller's XXX price.
I email "please go to the sellers auctions that you get those quoted prices and shop there"

I do I do ....

I'm with you deur1!

This is turning out to be my worst January ever as far as sales go. I'm usually quite busy this time of the year. I'm not going to chance losing my shirt by starting anything at 99 cents.

I won't be listing for 99 cent. That has only worked for me a few times.

DITTO - this has been the worst January sales I have had in years. I used to get about 50% of my sales were from international bidders and now maybe 5%.

January not too bad for me, but the first half of Jan. is typically a slow period.

I'm with deur -- Don't care what others are selling for, I will not go so low that the profit isn't worth the time. I will throw stuf f in the trash first. We just have to be smarter and stick with higher value items.
