Our TOS has been the same for the past 5-6 years, but, someone complained to feeBay about one of our terms, and I got a late-nite phone call from one of Meg's minions...

I had the option of EDITING OUT a paragraph from over 160 listings, or ending them all, and then re-listing at my leisure...

So...I ENDED ALL MY LISTINGS...

feeBay has SO MANY obscure rules now, that ya have to be a LAWYER!

Anyhoo, I now get to EDIT & RE-LIST all 175-200 listings I normally carry in Ralphie's STORE: "Ralphie's Emporium of Monkey Porn, Herbal Viagra, and Vinyl Siding"

Not to sound whiney, but I really did NOT need this BS at this particular phase of me life...

Ouch!

Make sure you carefully consider your options before relisting them.

1) Maybe now's the time to look at opening up your own website... or a vendio store... or a google base account...

2) Or, maybe it's just as well, since you probably would have had to edit things to reflect new s/h terms soon anyhow (with the USPS rate increase coming).

3) Maybe some of the items can be combined into lots, and put on core to clear them out for quick money, rather than sitting in inventory.

4) Maybe it's eBay's way of saying, go take a vacation!

I know that it really is frustrating.... but maybe you can put some sort of positive spin on it, and end up in an even better situation than before... Good luck!

Tom, That is terrible.
What did you have in your TOS ????

Did you require they watch ONE MORE NEWS REPORT ABOUT ANNA NICOLE'S DEATH?

Sorry Tom - that's rough.
But as eauctionmgnt said - maybe it's time for a change anyway.

eauctionmgnt:

THANKS for the advice, but our store revolves around the sales of NEW scales & balances -- all of which are DROP-SHIPPED direct from the manufacturer or one huge vendor we use...

It took me around 3 years to find TWO manufacturers who:
1) Have QUALITY items +
2) Have EXCELLENT customer service +
3) Have EXCELLENT real-time stock updates +
4) DROP-SHIP (usually the same day as order placement) enthusiastically, and at NO additional fee...

MOST drop-shipping is a DISASTER! I learned the HARD WAY by trying some companies that were listed on VD's "resource" page...

So, I've been very happy with the results of using the companies I do use now...

Well, at least this gives me the chance to change all my listings to: USA ONLY -- I'm dumping CANADA... For every 10 sales to UP NORTH, I ended up with 9 complainers/PITAS (sorry, AMBER)..

Tom /Ralphie I know you will get it back on tracks.
Most of us will have to start revising our TOS because of the USPS Rate Hike ...if that is any consolation.

I agree that there is no rhyme or reason for some eBay statues. Some rules they enforce with an iron hand, others they let go on.

No problem Tom, I have problems with Canadian buyers also. I think part of the reason is that most of them are quite new to eBay. I used to have a very small number of Canadian buyers, now they are about 25% of my business. As you know, I am actually English, and have lived in 4 US States.
Sorry to hear about your problems, with all your medical problems, this is the last thing you need. I hope it all works out alright.

I was thinking about you this morning, I hope you got your pain meds worked out. You need them, and it must be hard to have to fight for every little thing like you have had to for the last few months, you and Ralphie just hang in there. I hope that soon you will be able to look back on this time as a nightmare that is over.

Tom, you ever get your store back up and going? Tough break on that. There needs to be an easy way to edit such numerous listings without so much of a headache so that would not happen to the proprietor of the stores and auctions. Kinda like when you edit a whole web page with cascading style sheets. One change fixes them all.
Update us please. I forgot your ebay user name so could not go look. Hope you are doing ok and getting pain relief.
