Was just thinking the same thing. I very rarely get e-checks -- maybe one a month or every other month -- have three pending at the moment.

I know paypal has a screen ,if you dont watch what it said, you would be paying with your paypal fund or bank fund unless you scroll down and opt for other payment methods.
I have one bidder whose e check never clear as she has no fund in her bank account and she wont pay me any other way.
OR ,these bidders have maxed out on their credit cards?

I've been getting these lately too but, so far, so good as all have cleared within the allotted time...

I thought that the eBay fees were the same for eChecks as credit cards, but I recently got paid over $4k for something, and the PayPal fee was $5! Score one for the good guys

$4000.00 smackeroos via PayPal?

"Ai! Carrumba!" says Ralphie, the cynic! Ye must have large globes of purest BRASS?

PayPal outward payments default to eChecks to lower the risk and fees charged to PayPal. PayPal is also promoting bank funds as the "safest way to pay" (for whom - they don't say). PayPal is trying to wean consumers away from credit cards, so expect to see an increase in funded and eCheck transfers...

Tom,

My globes are of normal size, more likely steel than brass.

I wasn't worried: registered insured signature required mail to the confirmed address.
