Never mind! I found it by googling, in about one minute (God bless Google!). Here it is:

Tips
"How long should I wait for the seller to contact me?

Buyers and sellers *should contact each other* within three business days after the listing ends. It is perfectly fine for you to make the first contact with the seller, using the seller’s email address provided in the End of Auction email."

Long ago I remember reading something eBay says about buyer and seller getting in touch with each other within 3 days of a sale. I have a buyer who's challenging that, says he's never heard of it (I'd sent a reminder message to a newbie after no response to my EOA e-mail 4 days after the sale.)

This guy says it's not anywhere he's looked, but I KNOW it's there somewhere! It's no big deal, but now it's bugging me. Anybody??

I thought it was just the seller who had to contact the buyer within 3 days. Some buyers do not go into their ebay and make a note that they will send money or pay with paypal or whatever much less leave a messgae for the seller.

In the sellers agreement it says seller and buyer should make contact in 3 days to complete transaction.

Buyhigh: See my correction to my original message, above. It says sellers AND buyers. Normally I don't get so antsy after 4 days, but something about this sale just felt a little hinky to me, and I've learned the hard way to follow my instincts.

I wish my buyers would read that. Some of them take a week to contact me and another week to pay!

Anthony: Yes, I found it and posted it in my opening posting, at top of this page. I KNEW it was there somewhere, but hard to find on eBay. Good old Google came through.

Our daughter has a rather new car, and the key kept getting stuck in the ignition. She took it in, $430 later they "fixed it." Didn't work. Before taking it in again, she googled the problem and had the solution in a few minutes, cost: $120.

I just put it in my terms...by bidding you agree to respond to my email within 3 days......usually no problem.

My Totally Unreasonable Irritating and I Know I'm Being Unreasonable irritant are buyers who email INSTANTLY asking for the total....why would I NOT send the total?? I send invoices within the hour of an auction ending. They really NEED the total within seconds of the auction ending ?????
I know, I DO ignore those emails but they drive me nuts anyway

I had an auction that ended Sunday a week ago. I sent a payment reminder, thru Vendio, that opens with "Prompt, courteous service is something I pride myself on! Won't you please take a moment and send your payment?" I also had to file a non-paying bidder, as he had made no contact since winning the auction. His reply today, 9 days later, is that he wishes to cancel the auction. Reason? "Are you stating that I am not courteous just because I am running behind on sending a check for 2.99 plus shipping? If you are one of those then lets cancel the deal because your type make me cringe."

Where do these people com up with this stuff? I am merely trying to receive what he initially promised by winning the auction.

LOL. I just had a deadbeat ask if I was going to "give me a strike over a measly $5.00"
Silly him.
