I just found these little Christmas items yesterday. They are all mark Germany and came with 10 lead Reindeer from Germany. I know the reindeer date to the late 1800's or early 1900's so I think these are either from that date maybe up to 1920's. They are bisque and about 3 1/4 inches tall each. The heads nod a little but I don't know if that the way they were made or not, but I think so as the string stretches
I've got 3 books on Christmas and can't find them in any of my books.
I think the little girl looks like the Campbell Soup Kid, a googly eye doll or a Kewpie. Does anyone know. One of my Christmas books refer to some figures like these as snow babies and said that not all snow babies have snow on them???

They're really cute but they don't look like Snow Babies to me. I have some old ones from Germany and they look a lot different than yours.

Snow Babies would have been my last guess for her but she is about the right size.
I found some nodders that were made in Germany about this time so I think that's what they all are - but doesn't she look like some character from the comics or something. I just know I've seen her face????

Snow Babies are usually reclining on their sides or back, or sitting so their legs dangle over the edge of the piano. I've never seen one like what you have--and usually they are real babies. I'd save this group for next fall and list it then.

The girl is similar to drawings by Margaret Evans Price.

Dolly Dingle is a really good match. I think that could be it?
I went back yesterday and got some more Christmas stuff from the same place. Nothing that great this time but I did find some black indented glass Christmas Ornaments marked Occupied Japan on the cap. I've never seen a black ornament before.
