I have spent 2 days trying to print a shipping label on UPS. IT CANNOT BE DONE. I have spoken to 3 techs at UPS and one of them walked me through it. - Nada, no way, nope.
So not to FED EX and see what they can do for me. They want a phone no of the person I am shipping to. Does this mean, each time I ship I have to look it up??? Or is it necessary?

you can use the contact information off ebay - or you can try looking them up on whitepages.com or anywho.com. at the last resort you can input your own phone number.
the phone number is in case they can't find the location is all.
if it's a USPS verified address they would never have to use the phone number.

I use ShipRush for eBay, from FedEx. Imports all info from eBay, easy to use, and when you don't have a phone number, you can have it default to yours. Free to use, free to download. Works great.
I have fewer issues with FedEx than with any other carrier (but will on occasion use dhl for large packages that go across the country).

You can put whatever number you want in that FedEx field. Since most of the time I don't have the customer's number, I put in 000-000-0000.

Oh, any number works, but I do want either the customer or myself to know if there is an exception so that it can be fixed without package coming back! Gated community was one instance recently.

I use DHL and they require the customers phone as well. If I don't have it I always use mine. That way if there is a problem they will call you and you can take care of it.
I do wish that it was a part of the normal paypal confirmed address - so many shippers require it now.
