Dose anyone know what the use of these forks are for, they are only 4 1/4" long. They are made by Spratling in Mexico.
As you can see very nice enameling.
Hope I did the pics right ??

I'd call them pickle or olive forks.

tomwiii I think Ralphie hit it, I looked on ebay and they pretty much look the same. I have a set of 5 but only 2 are Spratling, the others are sterling too but very plain.
thanks guys

Would you call the enameling cloisonne? Seems so to me.

When I was making jewelry (many years ago) our teacher called the enamel that was done in a cut out in the silver cloisonne as well as when it was made with wires.

Hi all,

I wonder if these might be guilloche?

One thing's for sure - they're way too short to use for turning aebleskiver.

Thanks OhMsLucy there are/is no metal in the enameling unless it is low and the enamel went over the top to make the design. Did you get your fill of escargot ??
I think tomwill is right.

You're welcome, Gasguys.

If you Google guilloche, you'll learn more about it. What I've seen has a much finer design under the enamel but guilloche is still my best guess.

Edited to add: Can't really judge the size of the pattern... Considering how short these are, it might be finer than what I'm seeing on my monitor.
