So I have a very nice box of out of print cookbooks that someone gave me but they all smell musty as they have been in storage for sometime. I have placed them in the sun for a few days running and it helped but I can still smell a slight mustiness. I thought that there was a thread sometime back about this very subject. I thought that it mentioned charcoal? TIA

You might try dryer softener sheets between the pages or put in a plastic bag. Yes, there was a thread on this a few months ago.

not related but somewhat on topic. Does anybody remember the thread from many moons ago about trying to remove smell of a dead body where they had bought some things for resale from an estate?
We just (locally) had a prominent person die and since they were supposed to be on vacation they didn't find the body for 5 or more days.
I told my DH this morning to make a note of the address because I sure didn't want to be going to any garage sales at THAT address!
I can't imagine what you would do with a whole household of stuff like that.

I was going to suggest take your books to a casino, but then last time I was in Vegas, they could use some advice on clean air!
