FLASH! Don't download this! I kept it running all day and decided I wanted to turn it off. I went to settings and the things looped, screen went white and I couldn't get task bar, start menu - had to shut down (ctrl-alt-del) and thankfully it didn't start again.
I just downloaded the new ebay desktop and it's pretty cool. The developer swears there is NO SPYWARE involved and it's not supposed to slow computer down (this is the San Dimas project and there are posts about this on the Stores board). Anyway, here's a link to the announcement and download:

I downloaded it and see little use for it. It not only slowed my computer down (not the new one), it tied it in knots. Even after closing it, it stays in the system tray and took up 20K of memory. I couldn't see My EBay selling views - what useful purpose does it serve? Edited to add: I also couldn't see gallery pics for all items like I can in the Firefox eBay toolbar- a much handier tool IMHO

Sorry! Just went by what was posted on the boards. It's good for bidders - no selling application that I can see. I think you can adjust your settings for how much memory it takes. It would be nice if you could at least comment about your problems in space provided (this is not eBay CS and I think they really want input) before you uninstall it.

Well, I played with it some more. The good news for those with stores is that the default search includes store items, store gallery pics also show. It takes up to 65K memory when it's active though. International searches aren't an option, although I understand this is just the Beta version.
After a search, you can only drill down so far into the subcategories. I did a search on sterling, drilled down to necklaces, it wouldn't let me drill down further. I could browse down through all the subcategories and then do a search but that's not the way I'm used to shopping.
I tried to take a screen shot, but eBay desktop must be shy, I couldn't get one. What forum is asking for feedback on desktop?

I suspect it is Adobe AIR - which eBay Desktop was built on, that is responsible for the memory problems. Adobe AIR is also in Beta. A beta built on a beta is a big "F" in my grading system.

So, don't forget to uninstall Adobe Air if you did this (I did, and had the same experience as pixia and neglus). I don't like any of the toolbars even the eBay for Mozilla one.
