I haven't seen this on here lately (since Roadsmiths wonderful find of Christmas Cards). What is the best buy you have made lately at a yard sale? I bought a box of fantasy books for 6.00 and sold them for 57.00. I thought that profit margin was pretty good..even after ebay fees.

I went out this morning and found an old Wega Radio. Don't know anything about it but I am sure Sir Ralphie will know.

I found a center piece bowl with 2 matching compotes at an estate sale for $40 (1/2 price the last day). I broke the bowl but still sold the compotes for $250 - turns out they were Steuben. I don't want to think what I would have gotten for all three.
I love yard sales but lately I have not found many goodies.

I think the best yard sale profit I made this season was from two lamps that I bought for $5.00 and sold for $110.

I gave up years ago unless I see one as I pass by and I usually slow down and just look out the window. Here they have them all year round and all I ever see are children's stuffed animals, broken toys, used battered bycycles that the kids have outgrown, misc modern kitchenware and drinking glasses and coffee mugs and tons of old used clothing. Since gas is about $3.00 a gallon and the odds of finding anything are slim, I really see no reason to bother.

The estate sales are all conducted by the same people and the prices of what I would want to buy are cheaper - even with shipping on Ebay.

I hardly ever find anything good at yard sales but I found a coffee grinder last month at a flea market for $15.00 that I sold on eBay for $610.00

I bought an Olympic medal for $160 and sold it for $955.

My best luck lately has been buying on ebay and selling elsewhere.

Yard sale season is over in Minnesota and won't start up again until May. The sales around here don't have much - too many young folks. I don't even try to find postcards at garage sales.

I have found a great way to get rid of things that won't sell on ebay and make some money on them. If your town/city has a yourcityyardsales.com (put your town name in instead of yourcity) you can list things on there and other local people buy them. Here, everyone meets at kmart on tues evening and fri morning and the buyers come pay and pick up their winnings. I have only been doing this a couple of weeks and have sold about 200.00 worth of leftovers. Beats having a yard sale and spending hours dealing with that. I know some of you have high dollar items and it probably wouldn't work for that but items that are mostly up to about 25.00 seem to go pretty good. I have sold a few things that I had on ebay and made the same as the starting bid. Here, the price is 7.95 a month for as much as you want to list with pictures. It is free if you don't put the pictures on.

good find/sell cherishedclutter!... i'm going to help a friend set up at a flea market tomorrow because she is trying to get rid of a bunch of stuff from an estate of a friend of hers... since i'm helping unload and helping sell all of it, she's letting me have first picks... she thinks it will take hours to unpack it all. hope there's some good stuff in there.
