So I've never had a store, but am thinking about putting all this excess inventory I can't bring back to shows for a while to use. Things I know what they should bring. An eBay store may work.

My REAL question is, since I run auctions as well, do I really want to comingle the store listings with my regular listings, or should I use one of my other IDs for a store (100% positive, member for 3 years), and in that case, can I refer to my "other" store with a link inside my auction listings? I just find the pages and pages of "buy it now" clutter up pages and don't know if most buyers just give u after a page or two.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated,

Briggitaw, although I try to run 300 auctions (I've been lazy lately), more than half of my sales come from the store. Some people just have a store and don't run auctions and wonder why people never find them. Besides my own links to the store in my core listings, I'm sure many folks click on the ebay links, visit this seller's store or see seller's other listings. "Buy it now clutter" is the inventory you want to get exposure. People can filter it out by choosing to view auctions only, you can filter it out in the My eBay views. Edited to add: most buyers will search inside your store, rather than browse your entire inventory. A plus, your auction items come up in a store search.

Here's something else you may not have considered:

With the vast network of eBay affiliates featuring the goods of eBay sellers on their websites, Store items are not displayed at all. Only core and fixed price.

EDITED to say: I stand corrected. I double-checked and there are *some* Stores items listed but not all that could be in a given category.

If you don't want people looking at your things, put them in a Store. Pixiamom has a group of collectors who peruse her store listing in search of specific postcards, but I don't think it works that way across all product lines.

If you want to see how an eBay affiliate site works, here's one I put up yesterday:

I've done wonderful in my store and have found I only need to run about 1/4 of the auctions that I used to run to make my monthly sales goal now.
I only run an auction once. Start it at a fair (but higher) price and it doesn't sell - in the store it goes.
