My preferences are checked so I am not supposed to get marketing calls - Ebay called anyway. Just wanted to let me know that the Gallery promotion would end on the 12th (DUH) and that relists with gallery would be charged the gallery fee after the 12th (DOUBLE DUH)..I was tempted to ask if they thought I got the shooting star without paying attention to what was going on. They said they were calling sellers just to make sure they weren't surprised by charges later on.
EBay rep :"Oh and before you go ...can I ask a couple of quick questions?"
Do you have also sell through your own website?
Do you have plans to sell through your own website?
What percentage of your sales come through EBAy?
Sounds like they may be getting a tad bit worried about sellers jumping ship.

Those three questions were the whole purpose of the call. As you surmised.

Yep - that's what I figured. I have never known EBay to go out of its way to "save sellers fees". My answers:
1) "No"
2) "It depends" (The caller asked "Depends on what?" My answer: "On my continued success selling on EBAY and reasonable fees"
3)"Currently 100%"

Not eBay, but I've had several calls (from unavailable numbers which I simply don't answer) from Vendio. It's been years since I used auctionwatch! Guess I have to answer to put stop to it. Found that quite amusing.

They called me a few weeks ago when they had a different promo, free listing or a % off if you used Gallery. They followed it up with an email promoting the promo which had ended 2 days before I received the email!!
Asked those same questions at the end.

Ebay just called me again. They wanted to make sure they save sellers money (!) to remind me if I reslist after 12/12, tomorrow, and don't wish to pay for the Gallery option, I should unclick the Gallery. Duh!!
Maybe Gallery will become a defualt and we need to remember unclick if we do not wish to pay for the option and now they can say we were warned!!

I never specified gallery when I initially listed because I knew eBay would automatically give it to me. Do you think I will have to edit all listings when I relist after tomorrow to take gallery off?

I would probably check a couple to be sure the gallery is not marked, I'm not sure how that worked when not specified. I wonder what the next 'deal' will be? They seem to be coming hot and heavy this quarter.
