Hi, neva. I have a cockateil named Mac. That's short for Mac-a-damia Nut.
We're expecting a monster winter snow storm. I really have to move either way west or way south! 12" by tomorrow night combined with freezing rain and sleet.

Cheryl - cockatiels are great. We had one but it got eggbound and died. She loved my daughter and flew across the room and into her bedroom when she heard her in the morning.
It has been gorgeous here in No. Fla. in the 80's and just below it. However, next week it is supposed to cool off. Great, can light up the fireplace.

Mac was given to me 8 years ago. I had another one named Tweety. I loved that bird. A friend accidentally left the door open when Tweety was flying around. I never saw him again. It broke my heart. I just hope someone got him and took him in. He was a very friendly bird.
Mac is friendly, too, but a whole lot noisier. He loves to whistle the Andy Griffin song. Over and over and over. . .
My BF, Patty, has a bird as well. I can't remember what type, but he talks. Since she cares for her elderly mother and her elderly mother takes a lot of medication, the bird now tells everyone to "take a pill".
