Remember that we had the bet on who would reach next star level first? Well I think you are going to surge ahead come May:

Are the repeat Feedback calculations retroactive?

eBay will begin counting repeat transactions in mid-February, 2008. In May/June, we will retroactively recalculate your Feedback score to include repeat activity prior to February 2008.

I have many repeat buyers but nothing like your repeats!

Glad I didn't put any money on it!

You guys are sweet, but I think feedback for everyone will jump.

Here's the Sellathon 10k page. They only did it once, don't know why. We just have the September 2006 edition.

If you look at emovieposter.com, you'll see his repeat buyer ratio is 8.0. That is truly fantastic -- he must do an incredible job catering to collectors. Mine is only 2.8.

I don't have huge numbers of repeat buyers, but I've had a decent amount of them over the years (especially last fall when I was selling those celebrity Christmas cards!). I'll welcome this addition to my total numbers.

emovieposter has decided to leave ebay because of the changes.

That's what he said. He hasn't done it. He's still soliciting consignment goods to sell on eBay.

He's posted on PS boards that he is finishing up here and has already found a new place (says he's sorry he can't take everyone with him). I sense this is really hard on him. I wonder where this new place is? He is an auction (not FP) guy.

I also wonder what's going to happen with Bidtopia and Bargainland. Bargainland's TN warehouse was wiped out by the tornado a couple of weeks ago and then completely destroyed by a fire this week.

emovieposter posted today that he is starting auctions on his own site starting in mid-March and will completely off ebay shortly thereafter. He has quite a following so this could work for him (he moved from Christies to Howard Lowery to ebay in the past). He goes on to say:

"I have hope that, at some time in the future, I can help set up an auction site SOLELY for collectibles and antiques, so that all of the smaller sellers on eBay will have a place to sell on that is run by actual sellers, and which truly only does provide a platform for them to sell from. I believe such a site would be very welcomed by almost all sellers of collectibles and antiques."

Hmmm.

Maybe so but I'll reserve judgment until I see it.

He already offers posters on his web site. If he were getting enough traffic to sustain good results for his consignors, he wouldn't be on eBay now.

Sure, he probably has collectors in his hip pocket. But non-collectors bid and buy, too, particularly when they discover a tie-in to their favorite movie. Non-collectors will not be seeking out his web site. They won't even know it exists.
